Windsurfing with JohnG @Maho

Big thanks to John for getting me out on his Tracker at Maho yesterday. We fished for 5 hours and boated 3 sm bass. It was a pleasure to finally fish with the Doctor. We've spoke with each other for about 3 years now but this is the first time we had a chance to share a boat. Fishing was slim. We fished hard. I had a great time. Jown only lost his hat 2 times. We didn't have the engine running at the time. LOL I did notice a gentle westerly breeze though. LOL

I regret not being able to make it, I was looking forward to meeting you.
I don't know if John told you but as I was leaving in the morning, I discovered a fallen tree on my front door !!!:cussing:

Now, instead of going fishing and having fun in 30+ mph winds (lol), I was on a mission to find a chainsaw to remove the tree. I quickly discovered two things, no one in Queens owns a chainsaw and I'm not cut out to be a lumberjack !!!

Getting the boat back on the trailer was interesting. It would have been alot easier it John hadthe Tracker with twin screws.

that wind was totally ridiculous!!!! made fishing all but impossible...

HOWEVER: any time spent with Nicky is quality time, because he is simply the most down to earth person on this board and he always restores my sanity when things are getting a little hairy.....

we will get out again in more favorable conditions...

was impossible to get any real information about what is happening at Maho, I can tell you that the water was still 60 degrees!!!!

I thought I was insane! lol

I looked out of my window yesterday, and the waves were rolling over Mahopac Point. Rediculous to say the least. You guys are my hero!

Well, Im off to spend three days on Mahopac in preparation for the tx's that are coming up in the next few weeks. I am willing to bet that after the wind we experienced over the last few days, that the lake would be completely turned over by now. Now let's see if the fish are going to bite any better.

We will do our best, thats for sure. Hope to see you guys out there. Make sure you say hi if you see Mike Delvisco and I on the water. Perhaps we can get a bunch of us together and grab some lunch at the deli?

Well, it looks a little better. I bet that the LG mouth bite will be back by then. I was totally wrong in an earlier post when I said that the turnover should be done with that big wind. I was wrong. There were more big piles of MUCK floating around my dock this morning - a sure bet that this thing is still turning.

It does seem like the weather is cooperating, now lets see what the fish do!

The picture you guys have up here literally has my porch in it. You know, you gotta watch that guy John G. I caught him before taking pictures of me in my bedroom through a telephoto lens while on the lake! I bet he's going to sell them to "Fatfisherman.com" or something! I hope he has a wide angle lens on that camera - my butt is getting big!
