LPbassman and I hit Whaley today. Forecast called for 40 degree temps, partly cloudy and windy. As soon as we hit the water around 10 am, it snowed a 'little' bit, flurried , the sun peeking in and out of the clouds. White caps in the main lake, but the channels between the islands were protected somewhat from the wind gusts. It was cold, but layering took care of the problem.

Surprisingly, the bass were cooperating. And they were shallow. Leigh and I caught 'em on tubes, brush hogs, hula grubs and jigs targeting wood. The ends of laydowns, docks, brushpiles and stickups had some bass on it and the ever present pickerel. Total was around 12 bass up to 2.5 lbs and 4 pickerels. Great fishing despite crappy conditions. Apparently, the fish didnt mind the weather.

As usual, Leigh is a great fishing buddy and provided the entertainment via his jokes and funny stories. Always a fun guy to fish with.

Could be the last trip for the 'Toon?....hmmmm...maybe....maybe not....:D

I missed about 5 or more fish due to the wind. The bites were consistent providing all day action. And they really loved the tube. Swallowed it.

It was cold. But the action was hot. So Leigh and I didnt feel the chill. When it got really chilly, Leigh and I shared a hug.....

I ab bnow sidding ap home wid a stumfed bnose and bad cafse ob the chills. I tink I gop pneumnia on Whaley today. LOL

Joe and I did brave some evil winds and at times some heavy snow flurries but the fish were cooperating despite the cold blustery weather. We did have a few gusts of wind that literally blew the boat 20 - 30 feet from where we were fishing, but all in all it was not so bad. Besides, thats why god invented insulated cover-alls. Always a lot of fun fishing with Joe and we will continue our adventures on some new lakes next year. We both missed a few "better" fish and even got broken off a time or two.

One nice thing about the day was that we had Whaley
ENTIRELY TO OURSELVES
not one other sole on the water---then again no one else was dumb or desperate enough to want to fish in that wind. LOL
Joe--thanks for a great day and for not winterizing the TOON yet! LOL!

By the way--the clock in Joes truck has still not been adjusted back from daylight savings time---with that in mind I just thought I might add that today is NOVEMBER 29th and not September 29th. Earth to Joe...Earth to Joe---Please turn the page on your calender.

Wow,
I give you two guys a A+ for bearing out the strong winds. It was wailing here in Nassau Cty all day, and I was thinking of your planned trip there, and figured that you two had probably called it off. Plus, then you guys caught a very respectible number of fish, too, especially for this late in the year.
Leigh, of course, gets additional credit for his humorous intro:D
