With this new cold snap, and the snow that is apparently coming, I bet those smallies will be eating BIG TIME on Sunday. I think this is going to be the last hoorah as far as I am concerned. Im going to try and get out Sunday if the weather isn't tooo bad. The biggest problem is going to be the wind - not to mention keeping the ice out of the guides and reels. Better stock up on some Reel Magic this afternoon - winter is here I guess!

One of the best days I have ever had on that lake (Maho) was in the snow. The harder it snowed, the better the smallies ate (drop-shot and a Hopkins). I guess they figure if they dont fatten up now for winter, that it might not happen at all. Anyway, hope to see another insane person out there this weekend. It might be a real bonanza!

Pat X,

The forecasted amount of snow for NH will bring our smallie season to an end. The local weather guys are saying 9 to 15 inches on Saturday. The lakes are not frozen over yet ( just some skim ice in coves), but the ramps will be blocked by snow -- that is unless someone puts a plow on their tow vehicle.

I plan on being on Conesus tomorrow, as long as the roads are decent getting there. Fortunately, my area has a "chance of flurries" tonight and tomorrow morning, but temps going down to upper teens tonight and going up to 25 or so tomorrow. It'll be a chilly one, and most likely my last trip out.

I already have been looking at my ice fishing gear, and picking up my new auger from Tony On Ice Sunday!!

OK', we have to finally admit that we will have to wait until April for the smallies up here in New Hampshire. Our snowfall in Weare, NH measured a meager 31 inches. The good news is that we will have a White Christmas. I hope everyone stayed safe during this monster storm.

Ummmmmm............

I didnt fish! lol

Man, the lake still isn't frozen, but there is a 15 ft drift in front of the ramp at McDonalds, making it a little tough to launch.

Shhhh, shhh - wait - wait..........is that a fat lady singing? Dammit!

lol

I just read an article in the Concord Monitor ( NH paper) and they are reporting that Pinkham Notch, NH got 51 inches of snow. Now that will certianly block the ramps up there.

Patx - it's time to give in and winterize.

Never got out either but, visited the Peconic late Saturday night. Went 4x4'ing all night Saturday! The conditions were amazing! The river looked cool with all that snow coming down;)

Joe, Went down river road on Saturday night and went past the spillway. Upper Mills was still flowing and I saw Forge, snow covered but, I do not think it was frozen. Just a good layer of snow on the water! I was out there for other reasons this time;) . First REAL snow in the Jeep and for whatever reason, I always seem to go back "home". (Peconic River system) What a blast, there wasn't a road plowed out in Riverhead @ 11:30pm. I got to see some on the Jeep's capabilities:D
