Guys, we've been through this.....I'm not allowed to say hate. I'm a realist. I know the Yanks are a great org. but I can't stand their arrogance and that of some of their fans. Its nice to sometimes see things not go their way.......don't look know but Roger is rumored to be talking with the Stros........what a slap in the face, if this happens, all of you guys who defended him are going to tell me he's still a class guy right????? I love it.

If the Rocket wants to pitch at home for family and friends....like I said with Andy P....More power to him. Family is what life is about. What does this have to do with him being a classy individual or not??....nothing. Slap in the face to who??
He was a great yankee who helped us get a few rings for the fingers. Let's not forget he pitched one of the best WS games ever after making sure Piazza's helmet was working.
All you can say is thanks for wanting to be a Yankee and he was a great one.
I'm sure he'll go into the Hall of Fame as a Yankee...that's all that counts...;)

If you expect meto beleive as a Yankee fan you are not hurt or dissapointed that Andy flew the coup and that Roger may come out of "retirement" to go to another team, your not convincing me, especially because these two guys were your # 2 and 3 pitchers. In Rogers case look at what was done for him, people worked long and hard to chronicle his last season. If he comes back, all that work is for nothing.

Do you think its because he wants to play near is home....for a team that is far less likely to make the playoffs?

If Roger really wanted to pitch at home so bad he would have gone there a few years ago not now at the end of his playing days. The Rocket was concerned about a Hummer the Yanks had given him and if he came out of retirement he might have to give it back but a local radio station got him a Hummer so he is thinking it over. Roger is driven by the same thing alot of us are, the promise of a hummer(lo).

Of course I would have liked to see Andy retire as a Yankee. That's true for most all Yankee fans I'm sure. However, I truely believe his wife and family wanted him in Texas and no amount of $$ would have kept him. I wish him luck. I think Brown will do fine replacing him.
Bink...over a Hummer? With the $$$ he's has I find it hard to believe that him coming out of retirement or not will depend on a gift he got. Makes no sense.
If he's going to play again why not at home...he got what he was looking for from the Yanks, a WS ring. Everything now is gravy.

So your old Marty! have any of you known a rich person who didnt want to get richer?
Yes, I'm old, and PO'd about it, but I don't know what to do about it.

Interesting question you ask. I have a doctor cousin who just finished a prison term for billing insurance companies for procedures not actually performed. He was able to make restitution of about $500K, didn't have to sell his plane and recently purchased a home estimated to cost around $1mil. It's mind-boggling to wonder why he did what he did.
