I was fishing at Kissena lake today in Queens and spotted 2 ladies with shopping bags full of live fish. I started to yell at them to not put those fish into the lake. Before I could get close enough the 2 ladies dumped all 3 bags of fish into the lake and ran off. I called the Dec, Dep, parks dept, and the park rangers. They all arrived within 30 min. Great response. The fish looked like baby snakeheads swimming in the water and coming up to suck air and then going back down. The Rangers took a pool skimmer and caught 2 of the fish to bring to their biologist. From initial investigation by all it was decided they were not snakeheads but we're a fish called weather loaches or pond loaches. I estimate from their size there could have been up to 1500 fish in the three bags No one could say what damage these fish will do to the lake. WHATS WRONG WITH PEOPLE! These are the same people that will ask why , if they put a big fence around the lake to keep people out.
