Robbie,

Why SEPA's Berks Co.??? not much in the way of bass water, you will have many more trout streams though and a few large inpoundments. Although I have heard good things about the Schuylkill(pronounced Schoolkill) as far as smallies, from what I remember of the Schuylkill in the area I passed through it was much like the Delaware.

Here are two links to the area you are asking about, one is a map of public access areas for that county, the other is fishery reports by the PFBC, look under area 6 and the archives for more reports for Berks Co..

Why not look around the NEPA area??? ie: Pike, Wayne, Monroe or Susquehanna, all within reach of the Lehigh, Susky and the Delaware and still within reach of NY and NJ.

Now what is with that Love and Kisses BS:confused: :D

When I lived in Bucks County, I took several cracks at fishing on the "Surekill". It's a tyypical small stream on it's way back from heavy industrial pollution. It's full of small mouth bass - river sized mostly - but with some good fish in the holes. Lots of crayfish and dobson fly larvae (a.k.a. hellgramites - you can find them under the stones) and you'll usually find some odd colored sediments too - with a strong industrial smell. I certainly wouldn't eat anything out of there but you can wade or boat and have fun. I'd suggest the area around and north of Valley Forge. Of course you might prefer the Delaware for smallies - say at the Lumberville Wing Dam where 95 Crosses the Delaware too.
North from there, there is a lot of development and access is not good. Maybe two or three launches up to Reading. And lots of trash on the stream too.
Me, I'd pick somewhere else. Drive to the Susky (1.5 hours) and be delighted instead of disappointed. Or to the Delaware north of New Hope.

Well save a day or three, so I can take you over to Fairview Lake or we could go to Promised Land and do a BBQ and fishing thing with the families, just hope we don't have the northern rainforest like weather that you had this past August. Don't feel bad seems like since I moved out here the weather has mostly been rain, snow or wind, especially on my days off of work.:cussing:
