As I entered my basement yesterday I realized what it would look like if a hurricane whipped through a BassPro Shops or a Cabelas. I have crap all over the place! Boxes on top of boxes on top of boxes. Spinnerbaits, jigs, crankbaits, worms, tubes scattered all over the place. Boxes of lures, Super Pork...you name it. I sat down and wondered where to start. I did get to taking all my reels off my poles...wiping them down...seeing which ones need any service during the offseason. I organized the pork, and started on getting rid of the broken plano boxes and replacing them with some new ones. I bought some of the new Shimano boxes for jerkbaits...with the individual slots so your baits don't get all tangled up. I spend around 2-3 hours and still have a long way to go. I haven't even begun to sharpen or change hooks. But with snow on the ground already...it looks like another long winter of reorganizing. Have a good one folks, Mark

Here's Earthworm's secret for not shoveling snow.......own enough cars so that every square inch of your driveway is taken up. Makesure at least the two at the end of the driveway are 4X4's so you can just break through that pile that the plow leaves.:D

Oh the joys of living in an appartment and watching someone else shovel for a change. Growing up in Wantagh, I have done more than my fair share of heaving this "white dung". At 48, I dont intend to do it any more.

I have not begun to re-organize my tackle. I have my own storage room in the building's basement that I cant even step into now that all of the stuff from my boat is in there too.

It gets me through the winter...

If I can't actually use my tackle...at least organizing it can get me through these long, winter months. Ice fishing is fun when alot of people are hanging out...and the grills are going...catching a fish is a bonus! But it's not the same. So I'll do a little here...a little there. Watch some fishing shows...go to the outdoor shows, that should get me to March/April when it all begins again. I was hoping to use my boat again but I guess I might as well take it for its shrink rapping/service. I doubt it will get warm enough to melt the ice that's starting to cover the lakes around here. One thing about this time of year....all my baits look like they will work!!! Take care everybody....Mark

That's my philosophy, too!:D My wife has a front-wheel drive and I park behind her with my 4X4. It's pretty rare that I shovel the driveway.:beerchug:

I'm with JPBass

A subject near and dear to my heart, LOL. Once my two "snowblowers" moved out of the house, I was the only one left to shovel. Too many winters doing it by myself, so this fall I bought a snowblower. This alone would normally ensure a snowless winter! Used it Saturday afternoon and again this morning. Like the man said. "Starting to look like a good idea.

Mark,

Plano guarantees all of their boxes for LIFE....wrap up the broken parts, and ship them[even just the broken lids], and you will get free replacements shortly.

Now, snow has always almost been fun to me, and a very lucrative way to make some fast money. I have been doing it since a young teen, and as I approach my 50th in a few months, I still do it, currently with a route of 30 homes and businesses. I booked 30 hours of clearing snow during the past three days, and will soon taste the $$ rewards which are quite sizeable, even after paying my crew and misc expenses.
Did I hear "KA-CHIIIIIING"

I am no dancing to the bank to the tune of "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow":D

Really? Plano will replace broken boxes?

I wish I knew that earlier. I have thrown away broken boxes before. I have a bunch down stairs with the thumb tabs snapped off. They really will send me new ones? Thanks for the info..I appreciate it....Mark

yup, no BS....Mark [et al]
Plano Molding does give free replacement parts...I have gotten new lids for 3600, 3700, and several other series of their boxes when the lock tabs came off, or such. You do have to ship the old ones to them first though...but with time, new ones will be yours at no cost.:D
