I decided to take a ride to Splitrock today and check out the new access. I came in from Green Pond road and if you come that way the parking lot and boat access area is after the bridge/dam. It's a nice, big parking area but as mentioned earlier it is for cartop/kayak only. It isn't that far to the war and dragging something that isn't too heavy shouldn't be too tough. I fished around the area and by the dam with a spinnerbait and a jig but once it started snowing I left. It was cold with that wind howling around the lake. I talked to a guy there by the parking area and he said he caught a big largemouth on a worm. The lake looks good...I can't wait to get on it. If I take my 12 footer out there tomorrow I'll post the results....but if it's going to snow I may have to hold off. Take care....Mark

No...you can't get a truck that close

There's a path that goes down to the waters edge so you will have to carry whatever you plan on fishing in. It's not real far, but I wouldn't want to drag anything too big.
