Fished Rockland with my Dad. Certainly wasn't fast and furious, but I managed 3 fish on crankbaits. Unfortunately, I also managed to break the tip off of my favorite crankbait/spinnerbait rod! Damn. All of my fish were caught on my Red Poes 300 Crank. I managed a 3.2lb smallie, a 2.6lb smallie, and a 3.2lb largie. I also tossed around a jig n pig for awhile, but no takers. I'll take it for late November. Beautiful day out there though.

John: does it ever concern you that you never seem to encounter any dinks or normal sized fish on that water? seems that all the fish , although not great in numbers , are up there in size......

how would you explain this phenomena.....

are the spawns successful the last couple of years?
are some people over harvesting in there?

as much as I love to catch nice sized fish like that, I do want to see a certain number of young of the year guys popping up all over.....

Maybe with Huge's[now-busted] pole put of action, maybe them fish there will have a chance to spawn again, and not be busy avoiding Huge's trebles....LOL

John, I gotta admit is quite odd that there are very few dinks being caught on Rockland. There was one stretch in late September-early October where I and others were catching dinks, but it has not been the norm. I will let you know in a couple of years if I am concerned, until then I won't speculate. My far larger concern is the disapperance of the weeds in there. I certainly hope they come back next year.
