I saw some posts on BFHP regarding POCKET ROCKS today. I have used this technique a lot to retrieve snagged cranks or jerkbaits, but I wanted to put in a good word for the titanium split rings being sold on line. I tried these last year on several jerkbaits and crankbaits. My primary interest was to make barge fishing on the Hudson easier. Rtaher than "go in" to unsnag a hung bait, a steady pull releases the treble and you are free to add a new one and cast again. It really works! Just be careful to match up your line size and ring weight. By the way you can pull a hung bait from a barge or a stump with any rod that you like or can afford. Just pull straight at the boat....don't bend the rod. Try it you might like it!
