I hope that the Yankees have taken Manny by now. He's high priced and wants to go to NY and it might come back to bite the Sox in the Arse. It's what the Yankees need to offset the hard working loveable core they have now.

We would not take him even if the Red Sox paid the 104 million. In addition to being an arrogant slob, he cant field worth a turd!

Any bets on who is getting axed/traded in the off season?

Boone
Johnson
Giambi
SORE-E-ANO (Can you say C-H-O-K-E?)
Garcia
Is Bernie over the hill?
I won't even start in the Pitching Dept....
Curious Leigh...Who would YOU like to see replaced...
Think with your HEAD and not with your heart...
There will be MAJOR changes in the off season...

I think that Aaron Boone will be replaced....as for the others on your list I dont think so.
Giambi had an off year...one which he was playing hurt ans still managed to hit 41 home runs and over 100 rbi. It was his batting average that suffered the most. His World Series performance was about the same as his yearly totals: batted about 260 and his home run to at bat ratio was also about the same.

Nick Johnson was also hurt and came back to play without being fully recovered--he'll be back

Soriano--YES he choked big time in post season. He still hit 39 home runs, batted about 290 and drove in 89 (I think RBI's)
You dont get rid of some one like that.

Bernie--C'mon--the man batted over 400 in the series and about 340 in post season--maybe move him to left and let Matsui play center.

Garcia--good back up right fielder to what I'm hoping will be Vladimir Guerrero next year.

We need to improve on the pitching...and they better resign ANDY PETTITE!

That's my boy Leigh

Wanted to see if you bit...But as a TRUE Yankee fan you held your ground.
Boone ...Gone
I thought Giambi was a mistake to begin with.
Bernie is our Mr October...when it counts !!!!!
Soriano is a GREAT ballplayer even if he had a HOFFIFIC Playoff/Series.
I also like Garcia as a backup...
I think they can do better than Johnson..
As far as Andy....That would be shooting themseves in the foot if they let him go..
Well done Leigh

Are you sure Boone is going? The free agent pool at third is thin and if he is under contract why wouldnt he come back? Surely you not still waiting for Drew henson.. Johnson stays and How much does Giambi make and for how long, the age of 17+million dollars contracts are gone so he would be hard to move. Garcia is a good back up but full time come on. Bernie and Alphonso stay, maybe at different positions but they stay. Andy P has to be resigned.

Giambi is no curse, he is a great ballplayer who was valiantly playing with a busted knee....

he will be back......

they lost mostly, other than going 7 for 50 with men in scoring position, because of the bush league fielding errors, many of which led to unearned runs......

a Championship team has to complete a rundown without throwing the ball away and letting the man score ALA Little league.....

dream on about Guererro: he will command 17 to 18 mill....George is NOT in that kind of market, trust me!

also, EVERYONE must be very very very cautious of Guererro with his back injury......
