you wish!

I just wanted to let everyone know that it is now official:

FrankJ has sold NYBASS to me and I will be taking over the position of Administrator and Webmaster. Frank is dedicated, like I am, to keeping NYBASS the way it is: with JohnG as Evil Tyrant...so he will not be selling it on the open market as a previous thread suggested. We came to a mutual agreement as to the financial considerations and I have to say Frank is not doing it for the money. His decision was made out of respect for the members here and his desire to keep control of NYBASS in the hands of the present "staff".

I want to express my sincerest thanks to FrankJ for helping to make this site the friendliest and most informative bass fishing site on the web. I'm looking forward to taking on the extra responsibility of maintaining NYBASS and promise the members that it will stay good-natured and fun.

There will be some downtime with the site while we move servers. We want to be careful to not lose the forum information and I will post information as soon as I have it regarding the day and time of the transfer.

Also, I will need an Assistant Webmaster to help out with managing the site. My first choice is Gregg if he wants it. Gregg, let me know.

Again, thanks FrankJ and all the members of NYBASS. I look forward to a lot of fun in 2004!!

congratulations mike!

glad to see such a fabulous site stay intact-

imho it is best that one individual be owner/boss/final say, than have a bunch of owners with different ideas-we all know what the results can be sometimes when that happens-

it couldn't happen to a nicer guy-plus the computer savvy won't hurt either-

again, congratulations and good luck-

Mike: Do you believe that this site can stay a friendly and community driven forum, but still generate a fair amount of revenue?

Just Curious what Mike and/or others may think about this question?

If you want to talk about this...
you know where to find me.

Congrats to all members and a call to action!!!

Mikey,

Great news, and as you have been told by both me on the phone last night and Tina in a PM today we are behind you 100% in any way you want to proceed.

To all the members,

Let's help and support Mike with telling your other fishing friends to check out and join NYBass.com. If you have ideas to make NYBass better I am sure Mike will be all ears and open to all of our suggestions.

This endeavor is also one that will cost Mike a few bucks, so to our current sponsors, please stick around, it can only get better, to all the members let's help Mike possibly court new sponsors so NYBass can grow bigger, better and self supporting.

So let's get to work Mike, John and all the members!!!

i just spoke with john and he was actually worried that the site was sold to ESPN after reading my post!!!ROFLMAO!!!

just to make it clear...that was a joke... i guess it was the confusion with the tv show and all... johnG is very funny!!...i love that guy!!

thanks to everyone for their support...and for all the generous donation offers... wow, i feel like jimmy stewart in it's a wonderful life:) :) this place is amazing!!... for now lets keep it clean and simple... we wont be doing any raffles or asking for donations or asking little timmy to empty his piggy bank to keep the site up... and we won't be looking to make the mucho dinero off it either... the ad rates will be reduced in 2004 to accomadate the even smaller businessman and we will keep the old "building and loan that is NYBASS" running by the will of it's members.

viva la NYBASS!!
