More Boat Woes for Ganggreen

1182 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Rob J in WNY
I just received a note from a fishing buddy who frequents the same marina as our buddy Bill. It appears that his Fisher is not done causing him problems..this time the console shorted out and burned up. My friend said the boat is a real mess! Poor Bill..I think it's time to pull the plug and swim to shore. Just thought I'd pass this on in case anyone wants to send a sympathy card. Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)

Whew!! I thought it was something new. I think this problem occured back in the early part of the spring. Bill was not anxious to tell too many people about it :D

The Fisher from HELL!!!
Yeah, it's old (and still awful) news. Ironically, he was out fly fishing for trout that day (he had an excellent outing of it, too), and shortly after he came home, he discovered the smoking console.

The man deserves some consoling, that's for sure!

Hope you're okay out there, Bill! We miss you.

I sure hope you're right..

I just got the note about Bill's boat yesterday and my buddy just saw it at the marina a few days ago, but I hope you're correct and that it's old news and not a new injury. He sure doesn't deserve any more! Good Fishing, Sluggo (Chris)
Well, I guess nothing says it didn't burn up AGAIN!

I remember talking to him at a club meeting back in the Spring about it though, maybe he just got around to taking it to the marina, or it has been sitting there all this time.

Have not seen Bill around on this board in a LOOOOONG time, but am sure he is busy this time of year.
It's all good!

I heard from Bill a week or so ago and he's fine. In fact I was down in PA a few weeks ago and spent the weekend with him and another buddy. He's really busy with work, the house, two young boys, and trying to get some hunting in.

As far as the boat goes, it is still at the marina from when it caught fire this spring. It seems that Fisher doesn't have any replacement parts or consoles for his model, so they're not really sure how to fix it. Frankly I think Fisher Boats should just go out and buy Bill a nice new 19' LUND for all the pain they've put him through over the last few seasons.

Good to see ya, Fred, and yes, I AGREE with you completely on the above suggestion! The story of his relationship with Fisher could be a New York Times Bestseller.
