Hey guys, I'm reaching out to see if anyone else has had an issue with their Fortrex trolling motor power/accelerator button on their motor. Mine seems to stick on here and there, from the time it was new outta the box. I thought at first maybe it was a rocker switch that was meant to do this, since it seems that if you push towards the bottom of the pedal, it is more likely to stick than if you push towards the top. I know it's not supposed to do this though. Any suggestions? I've tried calling Minn Kota a few times but don't have time to wait on hold for half an hour while I'm at work.

Another forum in a Google search touched on the topic, their solution was to replace or adjust a spring inside that power button. I haven't replaced mine and there's no way to adjust it, and I also can't see what exactly would be wrong with the spring.

There is a way to adjust it - If I remember correctly (was a while ago that I had to do this) you can raise or lower a plastic pin/sleeve unit under the pedal button and that will change the distance that the pedal button needs to be pushed down in order for the motor to turn on. If you go too far either way it will be either constantly on or off. The problem I had was that the pin got pushed in too far ( I stomped on the pedal fishing some rough open water). I would check this first, once you see how it works its an easy fix.

I looked at it before and saw nothing to adjust. It's literally a plastic pedal that clicks into place and a spring. I'll have to go through it again, although lately it's been acting fine, lol...
