If any one is considering buying this DVD, I would say go for it. The added scenes they put in actually have relavance to the story, and will explain alot to people who are not die hard Tolken fans. Plus if you are going to go see ROTK then this will help you make more sense out of the movie. Just the the special edition of FOTR did for the movie version of the Two Towers. I dont want to give out any details, and ruin it for people who have not seen it, but trust me its well worth it.

If anyone has a Home Theater System then turn up the Bass because this movie has lots of it. I currently own a Velodyine CHT-12. I only have the dial at setting 4 with the low pass crossover at 80hz, and it nearly made my Fishing Rods fall out of the Rod Rack. Very Nice. If no one else was in the house I would have probably cranked it up a little more.

O.K.

There is an excellent part where Boromir and Faromir meet with their dad the Steward of Gondor and he explains to Boromir about why he has to go to the counsel of Elrond and get the one Ring. Also it shows how Faromir is treated by his dad, and looked down upon. Thus showing why he so desires to give Frodo and the ring to him.

Also it adds on alot of footage of Frodo and Sam going through the Emin Muir (the rock part in the beginning).

It has alot of Fangorn Forest added scenes that seem a little boring at first, but it helps to explain about the Ents and why the trees are so angry. Also a funny joke on why there are so few of them.

Also at Helms Deep it shows how the last of Sauromans army is defeated.

Not much more with the Elves though unfortunately. Still the scenes with Aragorn and Arwen add a nice touch.

I can go on and on. It has 43 minutes of extra footage, and goes by all the more quicker. I am definitely going to watch it again this weekend. One more thing.. you find out how old Aragon actually is (for people who did not read the book)

Lunker Dave

P.S. If the names are not spelled right that is because I dont have my Tolken dictionary in front of me, and cant look them up.

and John I LOVE ELVES
Funny, very funny.

I just got the Two Towers extended version for my birthday.
I've only gotten into the first 45 minutes or so.
I like it. I didn't want to purchase the extended Fellowship but it looks like I'm going to.

Even if you're not a fan of the story you have to recognize the incredible task it must have been to create these movies.

Tolkien Quiz

First a little poem

Three rings for the Elven Kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf Lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Man doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord, on his dark throne.

In the land of Mordor where the shadow lies.

One ring to rule them,
One ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

In the land of Mordor where the shadow lies.

What is the password to the East gate of the Mines of Moria?

Who wears the 3 rings of the Elves?

Who wears the 9 rings of man? generic answer Ok ha ha.

What did Merry and Pippin find in the Floatsom and Jetssom of Orthnick?

Finish this line " Hey nob Ho nob ring a ding dillo, Goldberry, Goldberry and ___________?

I love this stuff.

Floatsom and Jetsom

You guys are good with all the answers. Some real fans here.

Merry and Pippin found some barrels of "Pipe weed" with the Hornblower Mark from the shire. No wonder Hobbits are always happy they are getting stoned all the time. LOL

In the first movie TFOTR a car travels a road in the background behind Frodo and Sam when they stop near the scarecrow in the Shire. Sam said it was the furtherest he has ever been from home. All you really see is some dust if you look carefully so the left it in.

If you have not done so get the Extended release of the FOTR. Lots of importand scenes were cut from the original theater version. I hear Towers extended version is the same way. I need to go shopping.

One more question

Where can you look and see "little candles" in the water? HINT: Smegal knows the way.

I guess that would be the dead marsh......

was talking with Phil ( Bink) last night and we were saying how when all of this is over, they will probably come out with a boxed set of all three where they even add more scenes or whatever and get us all to buy yet another version.......

there is no doubt in my mind that I will buy the 3rd installment twice, just as I have done the other two.......

no more easy questions

I purchased the Fellowship twice. I rented Towers figuring they would release an extended version. I can't wait for Return of the King to hit the theater.

My GF likes Aragon so she humors me when I want to take her to the movies.

BTW - Greenberg has the best new theater on Rt. 9 just north of 287 I think its exit 3 ( there is a large garage man with no arms by the Aamco gas station). Just go early - you have to endure 20 min. of very loud previews but the seats are very comfortable and the sound is great.

Heres one for you. Now this was not in the movie, but in the book.

After Gollum was released from the dungeons of the Baraddur who caught him?

This ones in the movie.

What are the names of the Two Towers, where are they, and who commands them?

Thats a tough one

Who caught Gollum?
Iwas the either the Elves from Rivendale, or Sauramon the White of Isenguard. Can I use a lifeline? I am going with the Elves, final answer.

The two towers ( can't remember the spelling):
Minus Mogal - Sauron
Minus Tirith - Faramir - Borimors brother

Ill give you the answer to question 2 now.

The Two Towers basically describes the allegence of Saruman and Sauron, and the union of the Two Towers (taken from the beginning of the movie or derived from the book).

Orthanc Tower is located in Isengard, and Sauman is the ruler.

The other Tower is at the fortress of Baraddur which is located in Mordor, and commanded by Sauron.

And that is what is meant by the tiltle Two Towers.

Side Note: The Tower of good is called The White Tower of Icthalien, located at the City of Minus Tirith in Gondor, and is ruled by Boromirs and Faramirs father Denethor. Before the Return of the King.

Minus Mogul is located on the border Mordor (its an entrance tower into Mordor) on the outer edge of the mountains of shadow, and is the Tower that Frodo has to escape from in ROTK.

Ill give people more time on the first one. Hint the people or people's in question are in all 3 stories.
