two big changes in my computer world:

first, finally I have cable modem, for those that have it, I don't have to tell you how fast you zip through these forums....

but secondly, my son went in and did a few "tweakings" and now I no longer get those friggin' annoying huge popups from various vendors and other scammers...

I am not talking popups at sites, AOL takes care of that, I am talking the microsoft problem....

it was a simple thing to turn this off according to my son and now I am not plagued by them anymore....

working the board is as streamlined as it can get for me now at home......


at the office, where I am now, am still phone dependent but it is not my main access anyway......

I miss my cable modem

John,

Trust me cable is light years ahead of this dial up BS, I was running cable modem up until a little over a year ago now, once we moved out here it was dial up or a satellite connection which would not have worked for me because of the trees not to mention the price.

This past spring they started hanging the digital cable lines and we are on the list for being hooked up to cable modem....I can't wait!!!
