Hi group,
just a heads up to be careful when you're fishing in Amawalk Reservoir this year. The storms last summer pushed them out of Lake Mahopac all the way into the reservoir. We'll see if they take hold this year. Clean and dry your gear after fishing in Amawalk! Also, keep an eye out for them in Muscoot Reservoir, especially around the Rte. 100 launch.

They have been in Amawalk for about 3 years no. The DEP knows about them & they think they have them under control. Good luck with that.
The DEP has been tracking the larval form, called veligers, which are planktonic. They have been found periodically since 2018 but the adults never took hold or were found during any sampling until last year.

Lunkerboss, thanks for spreading the news on zebra mussels in Muscoot and New Croton, it is a day I hoped would not come! Just hope we can work together to keep them out of the upstream Croton Reservoirs!
