always lots of TV threads when we are not fishing.......

I have always felt that the quality of my life was INVERSELY proportional to how much TV I am watching! LOL......

right now, it is almost unthinkable to sit and watch TV anytime before late evening....

one obvious exception would be a major sporting event, like during the World series.....or if you buy a new movie and want to watch a little early evening...

but for the most part, my evenings are as busy as my days in the office.....

I prefer it that way,,,,,,how about the others on here....

They don't call it the boobtube for nothing. But then again, watching sitcoms for some is like reading the comics in the daily news. A few chuckles before bed helps some relax.

Unfortunately I don't like any sitcoms this year, so a good book is all I need when certain favorite dramas aren't on or AMC isn't showing a classic I haven't seen, from the 30's and 40's.

How busy can you be from 6-10pm John?

TV

I wish I could toss it out the second story window ... but my son has more say that I do.

Not much! - although I will watch some kid video's with the son, some stupid sitcoms with the wife, and for me - nothing but the news. I'm a news junkie.

not much

...except sport events. NBA, Boxing, MLB. etc. Im home in the mornings and I got ESPN on all day after I drop my son at school.

Sundays, its BASS and then a little football.

I cant watch Primetime TV, because I work 6 pm to 2 am, M-F.

I used to be a Seinfeld junkie....

Almost none.

I don't have a TV in my place and I don't miss it one bit. I dated a girl last year who begged me to get one, but she only lasted another month, and the TV was tossed out shortly thereafter.

Then again, I don't have a phone at my place either. I'm fairly low tech.

Other than a good movie or sporting event, I only watch 1 regularly scheduled TV program. That is 24 on Tuesdays at 9pm.
I gave up on programed TV years ago.

"After the first month I didn't miss television"
Quote from the movie Fight Club.
I have a TV but no cable. Haven't had cable in over four years.
The only time I miss it is for the sports. I miss watching hockey.
I prefer to watch movies. I have a pretty extensive dvd/vhs collection.
Most sitcoms stink. The same jokes just redone, over and over.
And forget about "reality TV". That's all garbage now too. Except for maybe that show with Paris Hilton living with a family in Arkansas.
To be honest the best programming on tv today is probably the commercials. How sad is that? More laughs out of a 30 second commercial than a 30 minute sitcom.
As for not having no tv at all. God bless. I've only known of one other person that didn't have one and when I spoke to him he asked me how the Knicks were doing. I told him I didn't know.

Besides spoting events, basically two TV shows keep me updated on everything I need:

The Daily Show: Comedy Central's news program

Pardon the Interuption (PTI): ESPN, a national sports news show- this show alone is worth the price of admission in my opinion.

Anything else, I could take or leave. Most of my viewing is done after 11 PM, after classes and work are done for the day, PTI reruns at midnight, or someother ungodly hour.

I don't work so the Tv tends to be on more at my house. I watch ESPN but get sick of the 6 consecutive hours of Sports Ctr. I watch all the major sports teams,Bruins,Celtics,RED SOX and Pats of course some more than others. Sitcoms flat out suck some IMHO are bearable like Raymond and Yes Dear but most are real stupid and the lines are so simple you can see them coming from a mile away. My wife likes " Joan of Arcadia"and it seems harmless enough. I watch a fair amount of the Outdoor channel and love "Angler on Tour" and "Classic Patterns" not to mention the show with the greatest theme song ever "Gold Fever". I like some of the cartoon shows like "King of the Hill" and Family Guy" or "Futurama".

Most nites I watch about 2 hours, but gave up on the networks and prime time years ago. If I can't find a good movie it's discovery channel or the science channel. Will watch sports, now that it to cold to fish on sundays will watch a lot of football.

Frank, are you kidding? between 6 and 10? whew....where do I begin: first of all, by time I get through with dinner, it is always at least 6:30 and sometimes 7 already.....

now, I am at my office from a little after 7 in the morning, so you can understand that maybe I want to get out a little, and if there is anything you need, stores, food, etc, might have to run out right after dinner and get it done, as I certainly can't do that during the day......

now the fun begins: have to go on this board and read every single post....that takes a while.....

then: there is always work on my ship models, recording my music, and workouts which are usually 4 nights a week also.....

pays to shower after a workout, lol......oh yeah, slip in the constant phone calls, I am on the line with many NyBassers on a regular basis. have to slip that in too.......

out of the shower and in the Jamas' between 10:30 and 11:00...on a good night, I survive a solid hour watching the tv at that point.....get to bed around 12 ish, and then the whole shebang starts up again at 6 am......keeps me out of trouble!!!

and that is my life NOW! when my 3 boys were playing little league, I was wrapped from 6 to 8:30 every evening with that alone, as I coached all of their teams......that was tough, we didnt eat dinner then until close to 9......that went on for a good 6 years, miss it and don't miss it in a way.......

now: I am talking my routine now "offseason", during the bass season, there is the prep for fishing days, as you know, prepping the gear the boat etc......

keeps you off the street corners!

somewhere in between that mess, I do have to remember that I have a wife....LOL........

Sunday night only...

Sopranos
Six Feet Under
Carnival

When none of the above are on I'll toss in a DVD or the History Channel...

So I would say around 3hrs a week...

TV is basically all we to up here at C-state. I can't go a day without watching at least 4 hours of TV. The boobtube and beers have taken up most of my time this semester. The travel channel, TLC, discovery, OLN, and the food network are some of the channels i watch on top of all the others listed.
