Hey all, I have a 14’ Aluminum Row boat for sale at Kensico. It is located at site 6. I have been on friends’ boats that were 12 foot long, and it is scary if a thunderstorm rolls in. One time the three of us barely made it to the closest shore. A 14’, 4 person boat is far safer. And since it is aluminum, I can turn it over, launch and pull it back on shore myself. Site 6 is just north of the route 22 overpass/bridge. To the right there are very large small mouth and large mouth bass and keeper brown and lake trout. But just to the east toward the dam wall is water over 100 feet deep and the actual Kensico submerged town. I call it wreck fishing. I drop a piece of cinder block down on 100’ of rope, and when a building stops the boat, it’s on. I've had spider line go ZZZZZZZZZZZ snap, too many times. and I have caught lake trout over 3’ long. Then to the left is the bridge/overpass of route 22, it is about 60 feet deep at its center. If you want you could row past it for about a half hour to Rye Lake, but I think it’s over rated. I spoke to Jack Stuart, the man who sold almost all the boats on Kensico. I told him my wife is ill and I'm thinking of selling. He gave me a very generous offer for my boat. I told him respectfully, I thank him, but since our medical bills are so great, I asked him for a week or two so I could try to get a little more. So I want to transfer my 14' for what others are asking for their 12' boats. I repainted it, and it will come with two fishing pole holders, two metal oars and oar locks, keyed lock and steel cable to secure to a tree, 3 adult preservers, 2 seat/throw preservers and 100 feet of new rope and a chunk of cinder block. If interested please email me at
[email protected]. Kensico has been closed to new boats and will remain so for years to come. But you have a rare chance to grab this boat and catch huge fish that have spent their whole life in a drinking water supply. You simply cannot get healthier fish to eat. Email me and I will send pictures. Peace.
