I own a 1198si on my little dinky 11'6" fish catching vessel and was thinking about getting this, anyone on here use or own it ? I know this wont help much on most lakes but I can think of a handful that do have key features and maybe painting a detailed map of an area might help dial in on a better way to approach a area where a big fish may be ...

For those not familiar w this here is a link..

A similar feature comes standard on the new helix units I believe which is nice because your able to access the maps while on the water, this program would allow me to study that information at home.

Seems like another gimic but for 200$ to me it's worth it if it helps put me on another big fish ... Last year I spent 900 bucks and added a 360 imaging to my boAt and I'm telling you it's priceless technology that helped add numerous nice fish to my year .

I too "Looked" into it and I actually waited about 2 years for the thing to be released. HB had been claiming AutoChart was going to be released some time in like 2013, then delayed it for over 2 years before finally releasing it . . . being in and around the application and software product development business for the last 7 years, a 2 year delay is never a good sign and sure enough the product reviews are horrendous on it, now they may have made some improvements since I last checked but from what I understand there is nothing "AUTO" about it, it's extremely time consuming, cumbersome and just plain hard to use. There is better lake mapping technology out there but it is costly. I'm going to continue to wait until it's more tested in the market or there are updates that make it easier but if you do get it let me know how it works, please.

The software is confusing and difficult to use. It should be much more straightforward than it is.
There are some lakes I have been fishing for more than 30 years that do not have good charts. After mapping them with auto hart, I understand much better what is actually going on underwater. Even though I struggled to learn how to create maps correctly, I am happy with my purchase.
