How much weight do bass lose after spawning

I am just wondering about this because i caught a fish last year around late may (post spawn for the lake i was at) and the fish was huge measuring 24" However it was very skinny and only weighed in at 6 pounds 13oz. The fish had a frame where if it was fat looked like it could potentially reach 8 pounds when full. I could almost fit both fists in its mouth. How big do you guys think this fish would have been if it was caught prespawn, and how much weight is lost on average during the spawning period.

Thanks

Did a wuick Google to find this interestign read, esp on page 2.

"Spawning with multiple females
is common. Females normally
release about one-half of their
eggs during the first spawn and
half of the remaining during the
second spawn. A third spawn up
to 1 month later is common.
Females average about 4,000 eggs
per pound of body weight, but the
number can be quite variable.
Reports of up to 80,000 eggs from
one female have been reported
but the average is much smaller.
Larger fish tend to have larger
eggs and therefore larger fry but
fewer eggs per pound of body
weight. Usually at spawning the
weight of eggs in females will be
10 percent or more of her body
weight. During the spawning season
the male does not eat and
many males die each year due to
their poor body condition prior to
the spawning period."

What Rich Z stated is correct, 10-15% of weigth due to eggs.I have the In Fisherman video that has a marine biologist stated the facts. The egg weight is generally overly exaggerated by most, never a 1 to 2 pound swing.
:peace:
The 2 largest black bass ever caught were in early june the one in Montgomery lake Georgia and another one half way around the world so how did they accumulate so much weight after the spawn unless they still had eggs or Maybe they were just feeding heavly for the past few weeks

It looks like the early summer may be just as good of a time to catch a record as any.
