Great idea Rob, Haven't spoken to you in a while. Ronkonkoma NEVER happened this year. I got into the surf casting thing and the striper scene sucked me in this year:D . Really had a blast... did get to go "home" on Saturday. Bass cooperated and the picks did their part. I was really surprised with the condition of the river. Pleasantly surprised ;) . I did see two ospreys( very unusual this time of year:confused: . I am on the internet this early morning looking for some answers. My guess is that they were hatched late in the season because of all the funky weather or a failure of the first clutch of eggs earlier in the season(hopefully due to weather). They were VERY undersized but, they made my trip nonetheless:angel: . A few Great Blues and a whole bunch of Kingfishers. Great to join them in their hunts. Hope all is well and count me in on the social.

i really don't wat to turn it into a messy who can and can't make it... more like if you can't make the first one... hell we'll do another.

how about another church gathering soon also. we can watch a Denny Lee Roth video.. i know bassRat loves them..

Robo....I am in town for the holidays

I would love to see you guys for a nip...I will be at the MET for the next month or so....
All I need is the when and where...
Earthy that story is a bit stale..You may need some new material..Hopefully I won't disappoint. ( I started the Party a few hours prior to me meeting the men in blue last season and one got away;) )

WRONG:eek: . After a thorough search and a approx. a dozen phone calls and I got the real scoop. When one sees an osprey from the water edge, they "may" apear smaller but, when a fledgling leaves the nest.... they will actually be the same size or slightly larger than the adults. The birds that I saw were probably, transients. Migrating on their way south from some far away place like, Maine, Nova Scotia, ect. On their migration they will often "stop over" at a good water to fish. Our "resident" ospreys have all started their migration to the warm regions of Costa Rica, Florida, Brazil, ect. Amazing to think that they will fly ALL the way to South America. Can't wait until they return next year! I have the Raptors to watch the rest of the winter;) . Rob, let me know if this day gets off!

2 days ago I had a red tail hawk sitting on the fence just 15 feet from my kitchen window, WOW. The kids where thrilled!
Indeed, "thrilling" is a great word to describe it! I can't talk enough about those incredible birds!
