Hey Everybody:

I got out with my friend Joe today, we hit a Westchester Reservoir around 7 am to 77 degree water temps and minimal wind, by 11 am the water temps were around 82, the air temp was super hot and humid . I got a few small bass on top water early and then threw jigs and cranks to only produce small fish 1-2 lbs max and a giant yellow perch. My friend Joe starts throwing 5 and 6 inch Senkos and connects with some 2-3 lb bass, he also caught the two biggest fish of the day on the 6 inch Senko and lost an even bigger monster to the weeds. Here are Joes 2 good Senko fish.

A skinny 5.5

I eventually started throwing a 5 inch Senko but could not produce anything over 2 lbs, those Senkos are crazy, so simple yet they can be so effective.

Great fish and nicely done. Interesting observation about the o-ring making a difference.

Senkos have been equally hot for me, producing tournament wins on Ballston Lake and Cossayuna Lake in the last two weeks. Must be that time of year. Gary is making serious green off me.

I don't use senko much any more but at one time that was all I used and learned to fish them about every way possible. Always have them for kayak tournaments and they came in handy. I use to use the 4-5s now I use the 6-7 inch. Black in muddy water rules
