i fished the haworth pond this past weekend, saturday & sunday in the wind and cold. did surprisingly well. caught 5 bass-2 small ones, and 3 good ones-one at 19", 2 at 18". caught them on fat ikas. tried fishing slow on the bottom, only got a few bites. the fish nailed them when i was just reeeling them in. lots of fun, & surprising, since it was prettty cold out. i didn't think i was gonna catch anything.

Nice job Tom. Nice to know there are still fish in there. I know that small pond very well. Fished it alot when I was a kid. Lots of of panfish too. Used to ride my bike there. I'm not much of a bass fisherman but I caught and released the largest bass of my life in that pond about 10 years ago. Funny story, I had to fix a birds nest and the jointed jitterbug was just sitting there on the water and bam. I pulled it in by hand. Saw 1 other fisherman there that evening and walked the fish over to him. We both couldn't believe the size of this thing. I had my fist completely in his mouth. My guess it went around 6#.

there definitely are lots of good bass in there. very wary, very hard to catch. lots of times, i go there in the summer. you can see them all over the place, but they won't hit. me and one of my brothers used to fish there all the time (almost 30 years ago). caught lots of nice bass back then, they used to hit anything. they're a lot smarter now.

okay, woody. will do. i don't go there often. i live on long island. my mom still lives in new jersey ( afew minutes from haworth) and i'm usually there once every two months. in the summer, i'm usually there once a month. but, i'll definitly let you know when i'm gonna go there.

Let me know when you visit Mom in the warmer weather. (Spring/Summer)
