If you tie a simple jig, that is a leadhead and simple skirt of hair, try tipping it with a plastic hellgramite in black, brown or dark green.....you also can use a live minnow lip hooked, but not too large, you want about half the minnow to stick out past the hair, maybe even a little less. Bucktail

I'd suggest bucktail for those types of applications.. They tend to hold better shape..
