Fished the south end of Great Sacandaga on the 13th and 14th of May. Lots of smallmouth on white and silver/white swimbaits fished over rocky flats in 3 to 5 feet of water. Nothing big, but once we found warmer--54 to 56 degree--water, we had 27 bass on the morning of the 14th.

I've fished Sacandaga often during May and the fishing was always good. The lake is just loaded with 2 pounders and in the spring they can be very active shallow. I use mostly tubes and catch them 8 ft and less either around, rocks, wood or hard bottom area's. In later May they can get really active on top waters - really great fighting & jumping smallies. I've caught a lot of 3 to 3 1/2 pound smallies - you just gotta find those area's that hold the larger ones..
