Cool air temps, surface water temp of 74 all week. Had trouble locating fish as the usual haunts were dry. couple of beautiful smallie blow ups on early morning topwater but couldn't connect. Finally found them huddled 20fow. Best 2 fish were a 3 09 and a 4 10. Many largies caught in 6 fow on the white spinnerbait when there was a slight chop. but nothing over 4. Will try again for the big largemouths when I return in a couple of weeks.
I also do really good on zoom horny toads and this year tried evolve mad mouse in brown pumpkin. I used the Strike King Tour Grade Swim Jigs with a zoom speed craw in blue gill and switched to black blue as it got dark. It really depends on the lake but I got some nice bass on the jigs.
Maine and Smallie, doesn't get much better, way to find them.
