I received a X-Mas special flyer from BPS the other day and they have BIONIC BLADES on sale for $49.99. At that price you cant find a better rod.

For a $100 I would go to BFHP and buy a

St Croix Avid...Slightly used
I have bought several Avids for a 100 bucks that you can't tell from new..(List goes at 150)

I have used some of the Shimano rods in the past. They were OK. I never felt at one with them like I do some of my newer BPS rods. I liked the Catana...I think Robbie has that one now....good little spinnerbait rod. I do like the feel of the Clarus though...... however I still wouldn't buy one. As for St. Croix. I never liked anything they put out. I can't figure how a 6-6 Premier rod can only have 5 guides and a tip top....then they charge you 60.00 more for an Avid with an extra guide I know there isn't much difference in the blanks.....I've built rods and I know how much the blanks cost. I don't get it. I've had four St Croix's....Two I snapped like kindeling in a fire and they other two I traded off. Woodrow got one, in return I took a 7ft Extreme off his hands. Both parties happy with the exchange.

I know a ton of people who would beg to differ....
I don't think you snapped two AVIDS like kindling..If you did you would have gotten two more....
To compare an Avid to the Premiere I got from you (That I didn't like either and have traded) is not an equal comparison...

Different Strokes brother...

P.S.
That Curado and Rod at 150 is a great deal

I broke two simply setting the hook, one was an Avid and one a Premiere. I wouldn't buy another St. Croix no matter what. As far as rods, it is like this......some guys will pay 250 to 300 for a G. Loomis rod. They swear it is like nothing they've ever experienced before, it brings their fishing to another level. I don't believe a rod can be so many light years ahead of its competition so I dispute that. No matter, I can't justify the price for the performance. These GL rods may indeed fish better than an Extreme or an Allstar or a St. Croix but not much better to justify the tremendous pricetag. I recently picked up a 7ft Yamamoto G Loomis Med. Flipping rod. It feels good but I don't think it is better than my JM. You are over paying for a name, just like Shimano reels. I pay extra to fish those Stradics. They are great reels but are they 125.00 reels? Likely not. They have good features but I've seen reels with 10bb for 50.00. What is the difference? It comes down to customer service/ return policy and reliability. I've had a Shimano break down on me before twice. The company upgraded the reel and shipped me a new one......these were not Stradics mind you. They were older reels. I have not had any problems with those Stradics.

Wood, it may feel different. The Avid blank is not a huge upgrade like you think. I can buy a Premiere blank for about 25.00 and an Avid blank for a little more. Put lighter components on the rod(which they do)and it will give you a different feel. Woody, I'm not saying you or I am right or wrong, it is based on preferrance. If they work for you, great. I think they suck.
There is no regulation in the industry as far as materials and prices go. That's why you can but a 20.00 IM6 Shimano rod and a 99.99 AllStar IM6. Which is better?? Hell, I'd buy the 20.00 rod anyday over 99.99. You don't know what you are getting. You may think it is HM54, it may be labelled HM54, how do you know what you are fishing with?
The only thing you can be sure of is that it feels better than the previous rod you upgraded from.

Craig: I also had a premier break on me while setting a fish....at Maho, sounded like a gun going off......I replaced it with the Avid model, same size.....and have caught hundreds of fish on it without any problem.....that was actually the second premier that broke on me....so, as far as St Croix goes, for me, Avid or bust.....

I really have fallen in love with these Loomis rods though.....

Never heard of such problems with Premiers. I use a ML spinning model and it is one of my favorite rods. Caught many bass on it and it also handled my biggest fish of the season--a 25 pound carp that almost spooled me before he was worn out.

I also have a Bionic Blade baitcaster and it's a terrific rod. For $50 they're a steal.

i bought some pflueger gold medalist rods at dick's for 30$ last year and they are great.i broke 1 out of stupidity trying to show baron von senko how strong iron silk 8 pound line was.these are the same as the trion rods but they are made for dick's.they are im8 with an aramid braid wrap like the fenwick techna av.for 30$ you can't beat them!!!they are light and sensative and cheap.i agree with e.w. that you can buy just as nice a rod for way less than some of these companies get.:beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug:

Yup,
For 50$, it is hard to beat the deal of a Bionic Blade for that price. I have numerous BPS poles, ranging from Tourney Specials, Bionic Blaes, and Extremes, and I feel they offer tremendous value for the buck...ESPECIALLY when on sale for prices ike this.
Thanks Craig...now I may go have a "lookie see" and try a JM pole too.... {like I haven't personally paid for enough rooms in his mansions already...LOL}:D
