I was in a store yesterday purchasing various items including diapers. The cashier rang up my order and I joked about how much everything cost. She's a nice girl who's a little on the slow side. She mentioned how expensive kids can be. Then quietly said I should be thankful for having them because there are people out there that can't have them like her. She caught me totally off guard. What do you say to something like that? I just smiled and took my change.
The whole ride home I couldn't wait to get home and hold my kids.
I know that everyone is busy. I know that we all have our problems and everyday stress. I also think that we need to take the time to be grateful for what we do have. Maybe it's me but people, including myself, seem to always focus on the negative aspects of life.
Thursday is Thanksgiving. I will give thanks for what I have and say a little prayer for all those who don't have, like that cashier.
