I need any help I can get. I've got to buy one of these for Christmas. My kids, 14-10-and 9, are asking for gamecube, but I think that is an inferior system. I can't decide between the other two. Please someone help me make a decision.

The only thing inferior about the Game Cube is the lack of games. As far as performance it is...

X-Box
Game-Cube
Play Station

The GC is geared for younger players...under 14 but does have some good adult games..(limited at rental places).

If I had to get a new system I would get X-Box...

The PS2 has been around the longest and may be replaced by next Christmas...

But for 99 bucks Nintendo is a killer deal...

Frank, the X-Box is a great sustem but lacks the support of the PS2. The Cube is a dog that was destined for failure because nobody will make games for it. This is a reason it is 99 bucks. Other than Matt, I've never heard anyone say that it is a better system than PS2. The PS2 is a solid performer and has the most support as far as games are concerned. Graphically it is good but X-Box is more polished. I do not think the limits of the PS2 have yet been realized. A new PS console is over 2 years away which in gaming is a long time.....go for Sony!

My son (9.5) had PS2 and he loves it! Most of the kids in the neighborhood his age have GC, but for some reason, they all end up here alot more than they do at the other houses. Patrick is not allowed to have mature rated games (just found out the babysitter sometimes brings them over once in a while), and we always rent a game before buying it to check it out. He almost had me convinced that "bad" words could be edited out....

Don't have any of these systems but if your kids aslready have PS1 they can play those games on PS2.

definately xbox

xbox may not hav as many games, but the games that they do have are just amazing, and xbox live is amazing too (high-speed internet needed). i have an xbox and an advantage that it has over ps2 is that it has an internal memory so you dont have to waste money and have to deal w/ memory cards that just fill up too quick. with an xbox you can save your games with no problem.

i love my xbox, but ps2 is good too, but game cube, stay away from it, it has second rate games, have so many friends who have bought it and hated it and had to lose money because they traded it in for a ps2 or xbox.
