Hi North County Bass Experts.
I was hoping to get a little advise on fishing either the Grass River (Grasse?) or Raquette River after they flow out of the Adirondacks. I will be in the Tupper Lake area the weekend of Sept. 21/22 and wanted to try some of the larger rivers to the north.
I have a 16 ft. G3 open boat with a 20 Hp yammy that I trailer. So a couple of points i'm look for help with:
1) Which river and section is better for size and quality of fish (focused mainly on Smallmouth but wouldn't mind catching a few Walleye and possibly a Muskie!)?
2) Access, do you recommend any put-ins/ramps on the rivers were I can get this boat in the river and fish flat water without encountering any shallow rapids for a few miles. I would like current with structure, not overly developed shoreline but need to be able to navigate with the given boat. Not looking to make a remake of "Deliverance" here.
I'm stickily catch, photo (if nice specimen) and release.
Thanks before hand and I would be happy to reciprocate on fishing info. If you are an upstate guy and want to come to Long Island for some fall saltwater fishing....I would be happy to entertain.....I also have a 24 ft. Center Console for that. Thanks!!!! Tom
