Guys, how did we miss this. Allegedly the all tackle world record LMB of 22-04 has been broken by a bass weighing 22-08. This fish was caught in California by a lady fishing Storm Wildeye swimbait. think there is an article in Dec. BM about it.....didn't get my copy yet. I checked the IGFA website and indeed this record is pending.

It was broken in 99

Craig,

In my opinion the record was broken back in 1999 by Paul Duclos, the fish wieghed on the bathroom scale. Paul's scale was tested to only be off by a few ounces, which still puts his fish well over even this new record fish.

The pending IGFA record is 22 pounds 8 ounces by Leaha Trew on 08/24/2003 at Spring Lake, California, the same place Paul Duclos caught his monster, it could also be the same fish minus a belly full of eggs since Paul's fish was caught in March and this fish caught in August.

I am not finding to much about this record fish, you have to figure this is a million dollar fish in the three months or so there should be pictures plastered all over the internet, I am not finding anything about this fish except on the IGFA website.

I tried searching, and I couldnt find anything about this. Breaking the world record is a big thing, I wonder why there was no mention about it, on Bassmaster.com, Bass Fan or even BFHP....

but think about it.....if its true....a 7 inch swim bait on 8 lb test?......no wonder some people think fishing is easy....

Scott, was that the fish the guy caught site fishing with a swimbait......I thought it was a certified 21.
Craig,

Duclos was throwing a 6.7 ounce Castaic trout, don't know if he was sight fishing or not but I doubt it because a witness said he thought Duclos was throwing rocks in the water until he saw that monster plug.

The fish was never certified as far as I know only because Duclos let the fish go shortly after his wife arrived at the lake with the bathroom scale and a camera.

I am not too suprised Spring Lake has been producing big fish consitantly for the last few years, fish in the 20lb range are almost common to the regulars that "know" the lake.

Earthy,

Here on the West Coast, guy's on NCBF.Com are not jumping in Hula Hoops over this said fish......

Reason: If my mind can still remember (Brain Fart, sometime's). The guy had caught the fish no dought, but let it go after he weighted the fish on a bathroom scale.

I think, the reason the F&G doesn't recognize the catch has the World Record is the fact the guy had released the fish and by the picture's, this is the only way to verify the fish in estimated weight. They compared the fish with his belt buckle. Breaking the photo's into microscopic sector's, plus na na na na method's. A computor geek would know how this is done. Taking a known subject and then comparing it to a unknown, thus, coming out with an estimated weight.

Just my Guess
so know one shoot at me,

Earthy, According to the Pic that us at NCBF.Com looked at. Looked to be around 16-18lb'er. If you look at the Fish caught down south that where verified by F&G at 20lb's there's a huge difference.

Guy's were more interested in how @##$%%#$ the Gal was than the fish.....har!!!!!!

I say again the F&G didn't see the fish.... NOT A RECORD

Earth, All the time rely, Low teen's anyway. We get excited above 15lb's,,,,,

Big fish in a tournament on Clearlake Minimum is usually 9lb and on the Delta is about the same.

Delta Record is 18.64
Clearlake I think is still 17. and change
