Mark (basseracci) and I hit Croton today with the hopes of catching some late season hawgs !

In summary, we had a pretty good day with a total of 9 hefty bass.

All the fish were caught on the jig-n-pig fished s-l-o-w-l-y in approximately 20 feet deep.

Here’s how we stacked up….

4.13
4.09
4.05
4.05
3.12
3.09
3.00
2.10
2.08

I'm confident the fishing will continue to produce into the weekend as we have one final outing planned before the season officially ends this week.

Closing casts.......

It was great to get out with Ronnie yesterday and for a near December day, we did alright...

The best part about hooking up with Ronnie is that we are always analyzing, always talking shop...So many common interests in the many aspects of bass fishing...I've never met a guy that has the same passion for solving the many imperfect fishing situations as I do...Thats what makes the day great...Boating the fish are just a bonus...

Ronnie stayed focused the whole day making good casts and working his jigs "just right" off those deep shores...He was dialed in for the day...He was amply rewarded with six of the nine fish we caught...

I on the other hand, lacked the same attention and fumbled more with my tackle than I would have liked to...Making perhaps too many compensations for my bad hand, limited me in some aspects, but I still managed to boat several great fish and join in on the fun...The 4+ lber that I caught on light tackle was my own special highlight of the day...

It's been such a horrible fall for me with my being sidelined and a string of "bad to mediocre" outings preceding my injury...This quality outing, with these good-sized fish, caught in a beautiful setting, is just what I needed to go out for the season on a positive note...

We are gonna go back again on Friday to clean out the rest of that lake (lol)...If I know Ronnie, we will be fishing even more aggressively than we did...Sat and Sunday look good too...

P.S....Today (Thanksgiving), I went out for a quick striper run with my brother-in-law and nephew...We boated over ten fish from 7:45 to 10:30 am...The best part was that I caught all three of mine on artificials, of my own devices...And my nephew caught one on a 7" Senko that I insisted he try...These Saltwater guys are overly conditioned to livebait and cut baits (lol)...Next time out, I am bringing my Calcutta 250 and a 7' MH baitcaster rod and we'll see what else i can drum up...

Complaints !!!

Ronnie,

It was a great day...The only complaint i have is that when we photograph your fish nextime, "could you please try and cover more of YOUR FACE ?"...I think we would all enjoy the pictures a lot more (LOL)...

Just kidding dude...Talk to you tonight...

Nice job guys....one question......why is it that Hugefish could hold that 4.13 and it would look like it was 6lbs.....anyone else holds it and well, it looks like a 4lber.........is he a dwarf?
Good one Earthy. No not a dwarf but a skiny 5' 10" 160lber....or maybe my fish are all really 6lbers! LOL!

Great day guys!

So I'm not the only one who noticed! :D
Gregg, you guys just need to work on your camera 'angles'! LOL! A simple bent arm slightly away from the body will always make a fish look bigger than a fish held horizontally!

Bass Stalker's fish looks pretty darn big to me!
Serious question......anyone see the Yamamoto video on taking better photos? Looks like it is pretty decent. Huge, give us your secrets....and you know I'm only busting your onions here.
the reason why John's fish always look bigger is because he is so puny compared to them! LOL.......

WimpyWhelching BuzzBaiting fool, is what he is! HAHAHAHAHAH.....

HOWEVER: the scale doesn't lie and John has probably caught more 4 pounders this year than anyone else on this board hand's down!!!

See my NyBass Angler of the year post......
