if anyone thought that he was the fearless mastermind planner of all of these coordinated attacks in Iraq, one look at him yesterday dispelled all of that....

he looked shot! physically and mentally.....living in holes in the ground really got to him, a long ways away from his debaucheries in the many royal palaces....

he was being kept alive as a figurehead, for sure, and I am elated to have gotten him, but he was NOT the one pulling the strings anymore.......

when the time came for him to practice what he preached he gave up without a fight like the coward he really was-

this will probably have some impact on some of the radicals-

if the boss doesn't want to kill himself, why the hell should i?

Not sure about all that Dodgeguy...Congrats to the men and women fighting in our name. We won A battle, not the war. What scares me to death is 70% of Americans believe Saddam had something to do with 9-11. 70% of Americans were wrong and I hope those same 70% don't forget about a guy named Bin Ladden or the fact that 19 of the 21 terroists came from Saudi Arabia NOT Iraq...
Maybe this will free up some man-power to get the guy who IS responsible for 9-11.
I'm not sure if 300 and something dead Americans and 166 billion dollars was worth it for this guy.....

Ask that question to the family of a dead American....see what response you get.

P.S: I thought we were there because they posed a threat to the US with WMD...not to liberate. If that were the case why not start with Cuba?? Only 90 miles off shore...

I believe the correct count is actually 452 Americans dead in the effort in Iraq to date. Sadly, we as a country have payed a dear price to capture this raving, and now broken lunatic, but one worth doing. I think it will be a great morale booster for many Americans and our troops as well. Tell the UN to go straight to ...., along with France [those snooty cowards].
Now, we MUST get Bin Laden , too.....then we got to take care of that power thirsty North Korean....maybe with a .50 cal sniper rifle. One clean shot....okay, maybe two or three[just to make sure]....
Once the trynts and terrorists know the coalition and the USA will not be intimidated or deterred by these folks, we have a better chance for some world peace.
God bless our troops , and watch over them....

Cast-a-way, I have to agree with you, but remember we're in the minority. Baathist leaders are still running the show with help from Alqeda and every other suicide-bomb club. As in Afganistan, the boyz-in-the-hood are streaming across the borders to join their brethren in Allahland! Civilians and the military are in the same boat - terrorist bombs and missiles don't discriminate.
Just ask Isreal.

Sadam had balls on the way up the ladder, but got soft and pudgy surrounding himself with muscle and thousands to suppress millions. Stalin was no different, as are most bullies. S.H. was out of the picture months ago, but Shiites needed to see him in captivity and on trial to believe that we weren't going to leave them high-and-dry like the last time.

It's surprising that he lost control and contact with his power elite, who must have realized that getting too close to a target, tempts fate.

The big turbans are holed up were we can't attack or capture the real monsters responsible for past and present sins against humanity, or further reduce future acts.

Castro was vulnerable after Russia went democrat so why haven't we taken him down and allowed 3/4 of Miami to emmigrate back? At least the cigars wouldn't be so damn expensive and the tourist trade would rival Puerto Rico's. Cubans have suffered economically and politically for decades. Time to rid the world of another bearded dictator.

Your right Frank. Why do I always end up being in the minority..LOL.:D
I KNOW this is sensitive to some and I don't mean to offend anyone.
Something we must realize that was quoted in todays paper by Sen. Jay Rockefeller:
"Given the location and circumstances of his capture, it makes it clear that Saddam was not managing the insurgency, and that he had very little control or influence. That is significant and disturbing because it means the insurgents are not fighting FOR Saddam, they're fighting AGAINST the United States."

sadams capture image has shown his "people" that he has been reduced to no better than vermin-

propaganda wise this is priceless-it must be exploited to show he is out of power and has been reduced to to rat and coward he really is-

if it costs, so be it-the information gleaned from him could be a key to unlock a lot of doors-

perhaps the rest of his rat pack realizing its over will follow suit and we can end this-

it's the little guy in iraq that has to be convinced, not the educated elite-they are frightened people for the most part-

his capture, i believe is monumental in turning this thing around-

osama wouldn't be a bad feather in the cap either-

let's pray to god that this is the beginning of the end-

Based on what i`ve been reading and listening to ......

1. Shithead was NOT living in a hole , he was hiding in it when our troops swooped in.

2. He has not used cell phones or other elctronic comm. equip. for some time.
using runners instead.

3. At least 3 others have been caught using info found in the buildings he was in.

4. personally , i wish they had just dropped a grenade down the hole.

His lovely sister has said that we must have used gas or drugs on him . Otherwise he would have fought to the death. Gee , wouldnt that have been nice.

As far as WMD ---- Even the french and the u.n. admit he had them[at some point] and had the programs. If he did get rid of them , then he is an even bigger fool.
He fought the inspectors every inch of the way and did nothing but make people think he still had them.
If it was just a bluff, he should never try his hand at poker!!!!
Seems to me that may be just what he did , and GW called his bluff!!!!!!!

Eiether way he`s out of power ,and that can only be good for the rest of the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Regardless of the motives for starting this thing, certain humanitarian benfits are obvious.

1. A democratic people freed a suppressed and brutalized majority population.

2. The truth will continue to be expressed by all those who lost relatives and friends to torture and execution. Maybe the world doesn't care (especially those countries who are owed millions).
But, our dollars indeed came to the rescue of millions slated for extermination and further brutality.

I just hope these people will remember us kindly once we've left them to themselves and their backward religous culture. We can only hope they embrace democracy of some kind. If not, we and they are back to square one and the sacrifices this country made will be forgotten in religious fervor.

3. Will oil production increase beyond OPEC quotas to pay off debts, past and future? For the USA to see a solid economic recovery, lower oil prices would hurt the Saudis and help the world economy. Iraq needs to build an infrastructure and fund all projects that were forgotten while Sadam built palaces and blew millions. Oil revenue is the only thing they have to offer as well as cheap labor and it would serve the people's needs and not that of a thug and his minority party.

Time will tell, but I fear that the Middle East will be a dangerous place for years to come unless Iraq successfully enters the 21st century and sets an example for all Muslim countries.

(What happened to the billions transferred out of the country?)
