If the computer chip malfunctions does your line continue to spool off of the reel until you are down to a bare spool? My thumb is hardly educated but I think I'll stick with it anyway.

Price

Is that the one almost $500?

Stolen from another fishing chat room:

Calcutta TE DC
Digital Controll Braking System
High Efficency Gearing
Machine Cut Frame
Dartanium Drag
SuperFree Pinion Gear
Aluminum Wiffle Spool
10BB+1RB All Anti-Rust Bearings
Micro Adjust Cast Controll
Cold Forged Handle
135yd/10
23 inches per crank
5:1 Ratio 9.9oz.
$499.99

A program within an electric circuit analyzes when and how much braking to apply. The cast is analyzed every 1/1000of a second. There are eight preset patterns which you adjust like you were adjusting an external magnetic controll. As in all casting reels there is also a cast controll "friction" knob. With conventional reels, max spool RPM is around 20,000. With this system, spool RPM jumps up to 30,000.

I've cast this reel and the results are amazing. The distance that extra 10,000RPM generate is impressive. I found in casting and pitching I prefered a setting which required a little thumb. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. I was getting 100' + casts with a 3/8oz. dummy plug on a 6'6" rod and a roll cast!

Dartanium is a material which offers long life and a wide range of settings. Since Dartanium came out it has proven itself a very good drag material.

During the initial moments of a cast, the energy generated by the rotation of the spool is stored in the digital control circuit board and used to power the digital braking system for subsequent casts. The waterproof digital control system of a Calcutta TE DC is a self-energizing system, recharging with each cast.

the spool cannot spin any faster than the line will come offf!!!we already have spools going too fast so why make it faster?so maybe it will cast a little farther.do we really need this?seems to me there are other skills to practice like accuracy of your cast.i guess if your rich it's cool.:beerchug:

What if it falls into the water? Will it short out? Why do they do this nonsensical stuff?
Craig,
being the knowlegable angler that you are as well as a manufacturer of proven quality baits, I'm certain that you will agree with a statement I made in another post, that.....
most lures and apparently tackle is designed to catch fisherman and not fish!
