funny post by Gregg, a football odds veteran!

Mike: there should be room for your extra team, several people have dropped out...

I believe Terry Baksay will NOT be there, one less pro to beat....

Lee Bailey, a perennial performer at this event, and despite his incredible career, a perennial loser at this event...he won't factor at all.....

It is not what you finesse there but WHERE you finesse there...and Lee and some of the others, just haven't put enough time in....

how many times has Lee Bailey fished Maho in the last three months?

how many times have I fished it in the last three months: a total of ONE time! another contributing factor why I wouldn't even think about this one.....

you really have to put time on this water to unearth deep patterns..

and I am talking RECENT time: forget about the past....3 or 4 years ago, I honestly believe I would have a shot at this thing, but now, I would be more clueless than anyone on the water....

time, time time at the location location locations! LOL.......

My pick to win would be no-other than Paladin (Get The Net,Boy). Coming from over 14lbs behind Pop to win on Copake and become the Watershed BM Angler of The Year (second consecutive year),this guy is on fire. Being paired with Bergans Nick A. this is probably the team to beat. With a versatile arsenal of SMB & LMB baits and tactics, I expect to see these guys at or near the top. Look out Blue, Pat , and 5bass.

Since it is only a five fish limit, it really comes down to the team who can catch the quality fish.

I have not been to Mahopac in a few years but my game plan is simple.... toss a 1oz jig n pig along the deep weed edge and look for those 5 "quality" bites. If they are not on the deep weed edge, then we will move in a little and flip the weed pockets.:D

5bass, we should be good to go with our pattern!!

See ya on Saturday.

We got to target the green stuff gary and please dont knock out out any grass carp with those big jigs. Also I was going to run a johnson spoon over the matted weeds on the surface LOL

If I had to bet, my cash would be on Pat/Mike. There are so many good angler fishing this one. The pros are coming here for the money so it will be a serious event.
Mr. Fancy pants painting boy is no slouch either. I bet that he may catch a couple on his fancy baits! I pick him as the underdog to come out an surprise a bunch of guys. Sorry to put the pressure on you Paulie!

you guys are such a hoot! LOL.....

Skeet and 5bass are snapping an inside joke on anyone who is not familiar with the weedless conditions at Maho....

Gary: Nick and Paladin have an arsenal of weapson, eh? LOL....

you see, you dont need an arsenal on this water right now:

YOU NEED ONE OR MAYBE TWO TACTICS ON VERY VERY SPECIFIC PORTIONS OF THE WATER....

PERIOD......

go ahead: comb the shoreline, comb the 1st drop off, comb the 2nd dropoff....do that with your whole arsenal and more....oh, it will be good practice, that is for sure....but that is about all it will be, is practice.....

People who have not seen this lake in a while, or have not seen it the way it is right now, could never, never in a million years understand what is going on there and just how hard it will be to catch even one fish, never mind 2......

wailing and gnashing of teeth!

I will be at the weigh in SAT aft, to see how you all did, I wish everyone the best......I look forward to meeting another bunch of people that I do not know yet in person.....5Bass, Skeet, Nick, Paladin and others, look forward to meeting all of you guys!!!

....oh this is getting good!

I wish you would start taking bets Greg - I know who I am betting on (and BTW, its not Mike or I). There is a person in the field that was not focused on yet. The team of Pido and the Woodster are going to come in with a limit - it IS going to be in the top 3 if not a win.

So, whats the odds on their team? I want in on some of the action!

So whats the verdict, is Terry showing up or not????

There is more trash talking in this forum than before an Isles Ranger hockey game. Weigh-In will tell the whole story. Have Gun-Will Travel will rule tomorrow. Go Palidan. Woop" Woop".

Paladin: I sincerely hope you do limit out, would be great.....

this thing would be better if EVERYONE limited out, like in the old days of Maho.....

but I don't think that will happen....

and I agree with Pat: the dark horse here is Woodrow, the flying Dutchman, and Joe Pido, the Philipino Pisces Plunderer!!!LOL.....

Joe is on a roll, and Woodrow is having a dream rookie season in competitions........

we shall see, we shall see............

all of this trash talk has been in good nature, it has spiked interest in this particular contest.....I chuckle everyday reading all of this stuff.....
