sounds like John won't be fishing

I certainly plan on trying to keep my share; although Pat is very likely dialed in. It is all in how you look at it. Can't win it if you are not in it.

if I lived nearby I could make a killing on parking

on second thought ..... the Lake Lounge Topless Bar most likely won't have a need for their spaces at 6am!

ween classic

Pat probably has more time in reverse on mahopac then most of us have going foward LOL. Pat is a really good fisherman and deserves every bit of credit that he gets and he has proved it time after time. But hold on I know alot of the guys in this tourney sat and I have competed against alot of them . And the guys I do know can kick some serious butt on any given day so anything can happen. The question is will it be deep or shallow or in between who knows well maybe pat but that is besides the point LOL. I am not on consistant fish for this tourney and my partner is in the same position but I am always confident and I know that at any time during a tourney things can turn from bad to 20lbs in a blink of an eye . Good luck to everyone on sat because with this much talent on mahopac the winner definitly will need some LOL. Mike 5bass Avery

That's right Nicky! Give em' hell! You are IN it to WIN it! LOL.....

great fighting attitude by all.....I would love to call this one the shootout at the OK Corral, but with 11 fish weighed by 20 great anglers last SAT, this one hardly looks to be a shootout.....

it looks more like a finesse out and fine tuning out......

as such, anyone with a bare knuckles approach will fall by the wayside....this baby need careful careful slow patient slow.......

Gang,

Initially, when Ray told me that the lake was going to be off limits this week, I was NOT happy. Now, I see that it has made this event much more fun. I still personally think that a week is too damn long, but I understand why Ray did it. Im just uprised that the rest of the field did not complain (or perhaps they did - who knows). I know if I was spending $200.00, I would want an opportunity to practice at least ONE day the week before the event. But........it is what it is........

With the above being said, I now consider the off limits period of the WEEN to offer a real challenge. I saw remarks in this thread that Pat and Mike are "dialed in" or that I somehow have a mystical connection to the local fish in the lake. That has ALL BEEN NEGATED now with the off limits (not that I ever DID have a connection), in fact this makes it REALLY tough for all fishing it.

For those of you who are experienced TX anglers and are used to practicing before an event, you know that you have to put time in, watch weather patterns and adjust accordingly. You can only do that if you have current information that YOU personally recieved by actually being on the water because patterns and behavior change by the hour some times.

I guess what I am trying to say is that there are no favorites in this event. I REALLY appreciate the kind words, but trust me, this one is wide open to all. The fishing has been pretty crappy lately, and its just a matter of someone sticking with what they know, and grinding out 5 bass. Just DO WHAT YOU DO best, and you will have a real good chance at a win.

This weekend, there were TWO tournaments on the lake - one Sat, one Sun. One of the events was comprised of the best fisherman of all the area clubs that belong to the Alliance. Mike and I figured that with talent like that, combined with the lack of boat pressure due to the cool weather, would be a formula for some big bags. That did not happen. It took 6lbs to win Saturday, and 5 lbs to win Sunday. Many guys never even went to the weigh in.

So, as you can see, its going to be a shoot out. Its going to be hard, its going to be frustrating and you will see a couple of guys blank. Not because they are not talented, but simply because its THAT HARD RIGHT NOW.

The field has been leveled ladies and gentleman. This can be a victory for anyone!

Mike and I can't wait to see all of our buddies on Saturday - it's going to be a blast! Let's put something together for after the event. Perhaps a group of us going to Pizza? Im open for ideas.

Huge,

Did you ever call Ray Scully and ask if there was a non-boater seat available? He may know of someone looking for a partner - I know there is at least one boater that had his partner cancel out.

Try Ray if your interetested - [email protected]

A wiseguy could make a lot of money

Taking book on this Tx!

Let me see you would have
Pat & Mike at Even money (hey their reigning champs, even if it sounds like a a Spencer Tracy movie)
Scully & partner 6 to 5 (well it's his Tx)
Kenny C 2 to1 (he'll scare the fish in the boat)
Bass Rat 3 to 1 (attitude is worth something)
Hooked Solid 4 to 1 (fancy painted baits won't help)
5bass 5 to 1 (fits the name)
Woody & Joe 6 to 1 (good pre-fish bad Tx)
Paladin 8 to 1 (the dark horse)
Nick A 15 to 1 (who's his partner Nick B)
Leroy and Terry Baksay 15 to 1 (Leroy.......Leroy?)
100-1 on John even fishing the Tx

Damn I could make more money then the winner and never wet a line!

LMAO :D :D :D
all in fun guys
