This is the last of the NYB get-togethers and the interest in getting together seems to have lost it's allure from the days when Wild Bill ran it. We've lost Wild Bill, our L.I. friends, our kayak friends and my guess is that many new members don't have the same connection to Wild Bill that we who knew him have. That being said, I won't spend a lot of time this year trying to hype the outing and updating the status of it. It's open to all NYB members who are interested in a good time with friends and if you want to see what it's all about you can go back to posts from previous years. I have been getting in contact with last years participants and things are looking good for a great day. There may be a few seats for non-boaters.

Location: Lake Wawayanda
Date: Friday, May 17, 2019
Meeting Place: Wawayanda Boat Launch
Fishing Time: 7am -1 pm

It would be nice if Nick A, Bill M, Bernie, John, etc. can make it also.

Dennis: Waywaywanda is a weed choked, mostly shallow affair....I know they allow trolling motors, there might be a HP restriction, and I am not sure if it is okay if the motor is up ( your tracker ), or like Monksville, where you have to have a smaller HP motor...

Leo should know....

okay, just found this:

A boat rental facility and launching ramp are located near the beach and picnic areas. Canoes, rowboats (with or without electric motors) and paddleboats may be rented at Wawayanda Lake. Privately owned water craft may be launched. Although sailboats and sailboards are permitted on the lake, there are no rentals available in the park. Gasoline motors are not permitted. Info on lake..launch fee..boat restriction
I think all of the questions have been answered in the 2018 post and that is why I put in there, "and if you want to see what it's all about you can go back to posts from previous years." Retirement is tough, too much to do and not enough time to do it all.

Dennis, here is your reply from last year.
I have no boater safety certificate so I'm out
Would you be interested in being a non-boater if there is a spot?

One of the get-together regulars couldn't go last year, got his NY boaters certificate and now is a boater.

Joe C
Thanks for the comments and that's the reason I keep the get-together going, to honor the memory of a very giving fellow fisherman who touched many of our lives in a everlasting way. RIP WB!

We'll miss you but Judy comes first. I had my right knee replaced a little over two years ago and take it from me, she'll need your help. Hope all goes well.

Fred, looking forward to seeing you and John again.

Nick A. I heard that you are dealing with a broken hand and hope you heal soon so you can get back on the water.

I also spoke with JeRome and Kunga Jim.

Always love this outing. It's a great day of fishing and fellowship. I cam bring my portable grill and some weenies if guys want as well.

Theres no fee to launch. In past, other guys have had full bass boats with gas motors but no one gave them trouble. Just kept them locked up and used the trolling motor.
