This is the last of the NYB get-togethers and the interest in getting together seems to have lost it's allure from the days when Wild Bill ran it. We've lost Wild Bill, our L.I. friends, our kayak friends and my guess is that many new members don't have the same connection to Wild Bill that we who knew him have. That being said, I won't spend a lot of time this year trying to hype the outing and updating the status of it. It's open to any NYB member who is interested in having a good time and if you want to see what it's all about you can go back to posts from previous years. Pizza will be on the menu again this year and I will get in contact with last years participants and hopefully go with the same boat partners. If anything changes I will let you know but it will be the same place and same time.

Location: Lake Wawayanda
Date: Friday, May 18, 2017
Meeting Place: Wawayanda Boat Launch
Fishing Time: 7am -1 pm
Lunch: 1:30 pm

Fishallwk and Krista
Billstea and Release(Joe)
jaydbee and wife
Fred H and John
Bill M and Rockland Basser
MarkNJBass and kungajim

I hope Nick A, Bernie and whoever else from years gone by or new, can make it this year.

I'm in. Not sure about the wife yet.
For you guys that have never gone before, you should give it a shot. You get to meet the faces that go with the names and you get to shoot the breeze about our favorite hobby. At the very least, it gives you an excuse to take a day off and go fishing.

I'm definitely in. Wouldn't miss it.

Anybody who is new and thinking about coming...please do. It's a fishing outing...not a tournament. All about hanging out, fishing, and telling fishing stories.

Are inflatables allowed? I have Sea Eaglr STS 10 eletric motor.
Good to hear from you Ed, I thought we lost you to golf. I don't know the answer but will find out. Since you use it in Harriman with a motor then it has to be registered but I don't know if you must be licensed to operate it NJ. I know that Billstea has Joe Release operate his boat but if anyone else knows the State Park rules, please chime in or I will find out.

Yes the boat is registered and I have the safety certificate, just don't know if the park allows inflatables. Harriman they must be NMMA certified, which mine is. Fishing is still first, suppose to have had a golf outing tomorrow but the anticipated snow put the kabosh on that.

Ed, I copied this from Waywayanda State Park website.

Boating
A boat rental facility and launching ramp are located near the beach and picnic areas. Canoes, rowboats (with or without electric motors) and paddleboats may be rented at Wawayanda Lake. Privately owned water craft may be launched. Although sailboats and sailboards are permitted on the lake, there are no rentals available in the park. Gasoline motors are not permitted. Boathouse 973-764-1030. NJ Boating Rules & Regulations pertain to Wawayanda Lake at all times. Each person must have on a wearable Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Device. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Swimming from boats is prohibited.
You have a privately owned watercraft that is registered for an electric motor.

Nick A., glad to see that you and John Hart will be there.

Are you the same BIGD who lived up Ma. way?

Rules are simple:
1)... You MUST have a valid NJ fishing license.
2)... You MUST be 18 years of age, or fishing in your parent's boat.
3)... Power boat operators must hold a boaters safety certificate from your resident state (trolling motors included, Wawayanda is electric only BTW)

It's in North Jersey on the NY State border. Since it's pre- Memorial Day there is no parking fee.

My leg is coming along. Thanks for asking....

looking at the rules you just posted, it looks like I am out...since I am in NY, they do not require us to have a boaters safety certificate, so there for I do not have one. Kind of silly to be honest for a electric only lake.

WOW, it's only six weeks from Friday!

Things are moving along, spoke to MarkNJBass tonight and he'll be there.
Bill M is checking his calendar.
I assume JeRome has thrown his hat in.
Billstea is waiting to hear from Joe Release.
Fred H, Nick A, John Hart, kungajim, jaydbee, Krista, myself will be there and hopefully Special K. :letusfish

Remember that a boater safety certificate is required to operate a motorized boat in NJ.

Ed,
I called up the Park office today, asked a young lady about inflatables being allowed, she said that she would check with her boss and call me back. She called back and said that her boss said that an inflatable is fine. Should I add you as an attendee? Usually the cost P/P for the pizza is around $7 and when I have a final count of attendees I'll know for sure.
