Yesterday seemed like the only day to get out, so my partner in crime Kevin decided to give it a try on some smallies. It has been over 4 months since Kevin and I had fished with each other and seen each other and it was like we never left each others side! The goal was to put him on some smallies since he hasn't caught any this year.
Water temps stayed at 46 the whole day and the rain didn't seem to let up. Found the bait and found the fish. They were chewin hard, didn't matter what you threw at them. Fish were primarily caught on blades, swimbaits, umbrella rigs, underpins and the DS. The were staging in the 20-40 ft depths. It was one of those days where we lost track very quickly of how many fish we caught. We even had a few largemouth in the mix which was a nice treat since I haven't caught and since August. Really it was a great time out on the water with my best friend and I it was really nice to put him on some fish. Our best 5 went around 17 pounds for the day. Many fish in the 3 pound class. Here are some pics.
Thanks for looking. Great to be home! Hope every one has a happy holiday!
