Does any one know of a decent place to stay fairly close to the lake? I saw something on the Elm Tree Motel but have no idea if its ok or if Norman Bates is waiting in the shower. Any info will be appreciated. Thanx!

Stayed at the Elm tree.....Bates motel.....close. Remember there were no phones in the room so bring your own alarm clock. Good pizza restaurant down the highway a bit in town though.
Might be better off staying somewhere near Twin Lakes and driving the 20 minutes to the lake.

I stayed at the Twin Lakes version of the Bates motel last year with some of the Outcast gang. I'm still getting grief over that too. LOL
Would you recomend staying in Great Barrington, or is there another town I should consider.
Super 8--where are you now that I need you!
Bump---need some input guys
LP,
You may be better off in one of the places along route 22 after the top of 684. It's still an hour to the lake but it's still closer than where you are....try the Pawling area as it's more populated and might have a few better places.
