found a place, but have a question.

I thought about a place that i fish alot during the summer for panfish and carp. I know theres bass there(DEC Website). the place is chockfull of weeds. The shorelide is all lilies. it is only a 3 foot pond so it might be hard to fish. its mill pond in wantagh. I was wondering what i should use there. Ill try lizards and texas rigged senkos but im thinking hard about what else to fish.

Try weightless Super Flukes, and Horny Toads when it gets warmer.

While the weeds are down there, try some inline spinners, small shallow running crankbaits,t-rigged baby brush hogs or tubes with a 1/4 oz weight, small jekbaits, beetle spins, and if you want to be really lazy, try a t-rigged or wacky rigged senko.I would recommend a small finesse jig, but, you might pull up a bunch of snot weed with it. That lake gets pounded by anglers, but, that is your typical LI lake.It does hold some nice bass, but, you definately have to work for them there.

Mill Pond can be tough, If you want some numbers on very small fish try the senko. There are some very good fish to be had in that lake but it takes a lot of work. If you don't have waders rule it out because the access is horrible. Be careful when wading though because the majority of the bottom is mud. There are certain areas on the lake weed lines etc that hold the bigger fish. Soft plastics are a must and buzz baits can be productive. It takes a while to figure out. By mid summer a slimy film covers the lake so weedless is paramount. Some big carp are in there too a bunch of 20lbers jumping around at night can get you real excited trust me....

Before the weeds are up, a floating #11 rapala twicthed on top works well. With the weeds I've done well on a t rigged weightless senko twitchibg and letting it fall in the open areas.
