How this get-together came to be, Wild Bill started the NJ Get-together at Lake Waywayanda back in 2010 and ran it until his tragic and untimely passing in 2012. Lake Waywayanda has been the annual choice because of the parking, picnic area, everyone catches fish and it's always been a good time. I'm suggesting the 19th of May, a Friday. It's always been per Memorial Day and not on a weekend is that weekends can be busy and once we hit Memorial day the Park gets very crowded and a fee is charged. We usually launch at 7AM and return at 1PM with lunch at 1:30. It appeared that the pizza has so we will go with that again.
For those who haven't participated before, there are a few simple rules.
1]... You MUST have a valid NJ fishing license.
2]... You MUST be 18 years of age, or fishing in your parent's boat.
3]... Power boat operators must hold a boaters safety certificate (trolling motors included, Wawayanda is electric only)
4]... You must want to have fun and a good time.
5]... Take lots of pictures!!!
PS: It's a State Park so there is no alcohol and you don't have to be an expert fisherman since all of the participants are more than willing to share their knowledge with you.
Please let us know if you will be a boater, non-boater, kayak or boat filled. If someone has a boat but doesn't have a
boaters safety certificate, let us know because there may be a non-boater with one who could operate your boat.
If there are any questions, ask and check out past Get-together posts to see how they went.
