I decided I need a kayak so I can fish my local lake (Lake Casitas), because shore fishing in California is really, really tough. I don't want to spend too much, and I also need a roof rack for my car. What should I look for in a decent 'yak that I intend to use only for freshwater fishing, and probably only at this one lake, which is fairly small? And what kind of roof rack should I get? Anything I might be forgetting like anchors and accessories for holding rods and tackle? I know nothing about kayaks, so any advice at all would be a huge help.
Oh, and if anyone is visiting southern California and wants to go fishing, let me know.
