Experience of a Lifetime!!
WOW
What an experience I had today!!
I have fished all over this wonderful country, Canada, Australia, South America and a few other locations. BUT... I have NEVER seen
anything like this!
Gregg Hill and I were fishin' my favorite lake... When we heard this God awful
noise. We worked on down the shoreline and discovered this nuttzy chipmunk
running back and forth along the bank. Every so often he would pause, stand up
on his hind legs and chatter in chipmunk language... As only chipmunks can
do... then proceed to run back and forth.
We finally realized what his problem was. About 6 feet from shore, there was a
large log floating, and on that log was the biggest acorn I have ever seen.
Gregg said, "I think he wants that acorn awfully bad". I suggested we
go over there, get the acorn, and toss it to him.
Just as we headed over, he jumps in the water and swims over to the log. Climbs
up on the log and grabs the acorn. He then proceeds to jump back into the water
and head for shore. When he was about half-way to shore, a HUGE Largemouth
Bass, we estimated to be 10 or 12 lbs, comes up and ENGULFS this chipmunk,
throwing water 10 feet in every direction.
Gregg looks at me... And I look at Gregg... And neither of us can believe what
we just witnessed. Just as we are about to resume fishing... This HUGE bass
comes up to the surface.... And puts another acorn on that log!

PS: Did I ever mention that I think Gregg Hill is a jinx??

I once saw a similar thing happen but it was a hoverlure stuck to the log& when another dragonfly came to mate with it, the Bass nailed 'em......Tightlines

This one really happened
Yeah right, you know how
fishermen are ....
But seriously, last weekend I was fishing the point of an island in the Upper Potomac during a drift and a little bird
landed on a low hanging branch.
Out of the river comes this huge carp and sucked him up.
What a sight!
