E.E.B.A.Family Day and B-B-Q
Our First Annual Family
Day and B-B-Q!!!!Well,we all met at 5.00 A.M. at Lake Ronkonkoma,L.I.,N.Y.In my opinion we should have just had the
BBQ!!!!
Fishing was,to say the least,minimal!!!
You will see what I mean!We had a few visitors that came out and it was nice to
meet Ray III(yar) and his dad Ray Jr...Also Paul, and also Tony and Frank from
Ronkonkoma Outfitters.Who by the way were very instramental in making the day a
sucess as were ScootC and his lovely wife. The Fun,Food and Friends are what it
is all about. It seemed like everyone had a good time. And the BBQ was great!!!!There
were two good fish cought by our visitors.A special thanks to all the wives and
kids that came to cheer us on.
Paul cought a nice 2.72lb SmallMouth
Ray Jr.Cought a nice 2.80lb LargeMouth
Good Work guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Paul's Smallie-2.72lbs.

nice perch! that may be record for ronkonkoma! you should have used it for bait (hint, hint)!
Posted by yar on 2002 PM:
first thing it's ray not jay (LOL). and dad is ray jr and i'm the 3. it was great to meet all of you. must do it again soon, had a great time. sorry i couldn't stay longer but i had family things to do. anyway anytime some one want's to go fishin if i'm free there is always a seat open in my boat! the old man looks dam good holding that fish, as his saying goes "NEVER COUNT THE OLD MAN OUT" i guess it's true. hey nice smallmouth, next time don't forget the net, it's easyer to land with a mouth full of treble hooks(LOL).

I think Paul caught the smallie. Now you all know why I won't have a tournament on Ronko. I got 4 shorts 2 on a mudbug and 2 on a dropshot rog along with a perch. I couldn't beleive how low the lake was. Normally the lake suffers from lack of cover. That was an understatement, there was zero shoreline cover. The water level was down at least 10 ft. My willow trees were gone, my 40 ft hole was in 25 feet. My chunk rock was sitting out of the water. I hate this place!!!!!

for some pics
Yar (Ray III) and Paul caught nice fish. Paul with the smallie, and Yar with
the LMB. Ray Jr (DAD) is shown with the LMB. Tons of little perch. no big
ones.. hmmmmm. now the walleye and bass can finish them off!! keep it up harvesters!
the bass were few and far between. the dink perch hit any and all cranks. senkos,
mudbugs, and cranks were the weapons of choice.
thanks to frank and tony of RONKONKOMA OUTFITTERS!! we were able to reward our
fishing friends with a little $$ for more gear.. senkos and hooks most likely.
scott c and keri are the ones to be thanked for the food and drinks. colleen
thanks for helping out and lending us scott!! great job guys.
the ever elusive frank j showed and fished. barry, my dad bob, paul and tony, yar
and yar jr.. lol, craig and andrew, bernie and scott all fished. jim (Jpsurf)
fished off his fully rigged machine. am i missing anyone??
thanks to everyone for making a sucky fishing day a great bbq day!!

Just want to add my $.02.
Thank you all for a great day. Fishing left something to be desired. As my
partner of the day kept saying "what a day to be at forge", but we
weren't so we make the best with what we have. Thanks Scott for cooking and
Kerri playing hostess. Thanks to Ronkonkoma Outfitters for their generosity and
help. And thanks to everyone who I have probably now PO'd by not mentioniing all the names you all know
who you are. In short it was a great time. I'm looking forward to the next
event.

easy launch
good live bait lake.
you are used to the river system, and some obscure lakes.
this is a real easy lake to get kids, and family out on. as for the bass
population.. it is difficult to work. the perch and walleye keep my kids happy
here.

tons of 4-5" perch
in there. maybe dec should allow cast netting of these buggers. i had 5-7 at a
time chasing my cranks in. the bigger ones are fun to catch, but i would goto connetequot
river by bayard cutting arboredum (spelling) for the biggest. or nissequoge
(once again spelling) river for the strongest.
get some live shiners for niss.
2lbrs will spool you fast, and fight like a smallie.

There was so much discussion about the Forge pond tv show that I thought RJ payed you guys for the day to promote it. I couldn't enter a conversation without someone bringing it up. I have to get Mike D out with his camera to show you guys a thing or two.

Just wanted to say Thanks
for the opportunity to help out. Tony had a blast fishing for his first time
under semi-tournament conditions, even if he came up empty. I had a great time
stuffing my face and meeting and talking to you all. I got some tips and
learned alot from you. Also I want to thank all who are worked to get our links
and pics up here and on EEBA. I couldn't be prouder.
Now because of last weekend not only do I have new customers, I feel that I
also have new friends and that is ultimately more important and satisfying.
Thanks again,
Broadbill

Broadbill, Real class way
to present yourself. Other guys with buisness ventures should follow your
method of promotion. and that is just be genuine. The time for the sale will
come. Establishing freindship & trust are key.
I will go out of my way to visit your store. Keep up the good work.
