Thumbs upPics from the Rockland Breakfast...

Well, here is a montage of pics from the Rockland Breakfast yesterday morning. It was nice to meet so many of you, especially considering that I've known some of you for a long, long time now, but only through the internet. John was not off in stating that there was probably 25 to 30 people there representing NYBass.com.

I went to NJ to visit my buddy Butch, who recently registered here on NYBass as "HALFbassed" - look for posts from him soon. He's a good buddy of mine from back when we both lived in
Tucson, AZ. Well, we were out of touch for nearly two years before I received an email from him last week. We quickly arranged for me to visit, and then Dustin reminded me that the Rockland Sportsmans Show was on as well. At that point, I knew I had to try to make this trip work! I'm glad I did, because I not only got to meet and fish with Butch, but both of us, as well as his two beautiful daughters, got to meet all the fine people at the Rockland Breakfast, too!

First off, John G. It was the most awesome pleasure to finally meet this man after all this time. Nick (Bass Rat) was great to meet finally as well, after all the IMs, humor and stuff. Gregg, Sean Heitman, bobn, Charlie (that guy is a hoot!) and I talked for quite a bit, and Charlie was so kind to show us all his favorite Float-n-Fly rigs, and gave out some Gammy samples, too. Craig (Earthworm77) generously gave me a sack-o-MMJ's to try (I'm holding one MMJ package up in the pic of me with John G). Also talked at length with Yankeesrule, Cast-a-way, PeteL, Gregg, Robbie (theole34), JeffLang BVS, and others as well. Everyone there was nothing but class.

At the show, I recognized dodgeguy walking by just because of his pic he posts here. When I asked him if he was a NYBasser and he responded with a "yes," I told him who I was and we chatted it up for awhile. As we were leaving, I struck up a haphazard conversation with a guy who, in the end, turned to be Lunker Dave! How cool is that?

My only regret was that I was not able to meet Dustin (Gr8tSacandaga). That was a real bummer, but hey, we'll figure something out this year to meet and/or fish, buddy!

Well, I'm back in WNY now, and wound up having a great weekend, meeting old friends and making new ones. I hope to be able to get out to the Mahopac Get-Together, and the East meets West Get-Together as those details get hammered out.

I want to thank Butch and his family for putting me up for the 3 days I was out there, and I also to thank those of you who emailed me their cell phone numbers for contact. I wound up not needing to call ya's, but I appreciate those gestures. Also, thanks go out to Scott E for providing perfect directions to the breakfast diner. We drove straight to it without a flinch.

Tight Lines...

Rob,

I feel horrible that you were in my neck of the woods and I wasn't there. After sharing email and IM's I would have really enjoyed meeting you in person. Looks like you guys had a great time. I really do hope you can make it for the Maho outing this year. If so, leave your boat at home and you and I will fish together that day on my ride - if you want to.

Again - apologies,

Pat

Thumbs upRob,

Glad those directions got you there but I wish I could have been there to meet you also as well as many of the other guys I have not met yet.

I may be in your neck of the woods in a few months, my sister-in-law lives in Fairport and I know the wife will want to take a trip up that way sometime either late spring or early summer. So if not on Maho or another get together, we will meet.

Finally got out yesterday with Ttony.

Youve got mail comming!

Pat

Posted by Sean Heitman on 2002 AM:

I thought you did..I walked out the door in the am and KNEW you were on the water!!!!!LMAOcussin

Posted by ttony_5 on 2002 AM:

yeah, Sean, after that ordeal of getting Pat's boat ready for the season, I was hoping you two would get out. I stopped by your booth on Saturday but you were swamped and I didn't want to bother you, after all, you're there for business. Pat and I are starting a new series called "Two fat guys and a sturdy boat". Perhaps we can film the first episode up at your place LOL.

Guys, I wound up getting dragged to the show in the afternoon with my father-in-law. I didn't see one friendly face in the crowd. Really bummed that I missed you all for breakfast, it's always a good time.

Hopefully the Mahopac outing isn't too far away.

The new business is going gangbusters and I hope to see you all on the lake soon.

Mike - The Hover Lure in the picture was curtesy of RobJ`s

I didn't perceive anything having to do with
Europe in Charlie, bud. After all, my mother was Korean, so I know a Southeast Asian when I see and talk to one.
