NY State Lakes
A Morphomeric Atlas of Selected Lakes
Vol. 4
Regions 1,2,&3

Can be obtained by writing to the DEC in Albany NY 12233
It cast about $5

What you get is a book of depth contour maps for selected (that's to say not ALL the lakes) lakes in Nassau, Suffolk, Bronx, Kings, NY, Queens, Dutchess, Putnam, Rockland Sullivan, Ulster, & Westchester counties.

These maps are old and not always accurate. Thing is for about half of the small lake in the book these are the ONLY maps I have ever found. So if you fish place like Mohansic, or
Canopus, Hessian, its well worth the 5 bucks

If I remember correctly, I just emailed the DEC and someone got back to me asking for my address. It may have taken one or two emails though to get the initial response. Don't remember the $5.00, but it is probably worth it.

Cool

The maps are free, but it helps the DEC if you pay for the postage. $5.00 is nothing when you consider the information you can get.

ALL DEC offices have the books. Call Gregg or Chart at (631) 444-0280 for more information.

Tight Lines!

Charlie there are 2 types of map books out there. There is the one the DEC hands out, and there is one that you can buy from the DEC. The one you can buy from the DEC has more lakes, and covers a wider area. You can also buy them for other regions. I happen to have books from 5 out of the 9 regions in the state.

EFederlein, Jack Stewart puts out that book. He copies the maps from the same atlas. but with all the other stuff he puts in it's worth the $10.
