Let's see Maybrook res., Beaverdam, Orange lake and Washington lake....all good lakes. Sounds like you should have your hands filled w/ those lakes..Try the Harriman lakes. They are a little different than the others because of the clarity. They offer some good fishing, bass and panfish. You need a permit that goes on sale TOMORROW at the Tiorati circle or Lake Welch camp site. Don't forget your registration and life vests....good luck

How about Glennmere (Florida) and Swan (up by Monticello).

Wappingers Lake (Wappingers Falls), Sylvan Lake ( Hopewell Jct)

Thumbs upNew places to fish

As already mentioned, you can try the Harriman lakes: Tiorati, Sebago, Stahahe, Island Pond, offer excellent Large Mouth and Pickeral fishing, also Welsh for Smallies, Rockland for Largies, Smallies and a chance for a Tiger.
In
Monroe you can try Round Pond.
For NJ waters you can try Shepherds Pond and Monksville, they are not too far from
Greenwood.
All of these places can be tough, but when you put in the "time" to figure them out, they can offer excellent fishing IMHO.
Andrew.

Jared,

No rentals on Beaver Dam, it is a private lake.

how about fahnstock state park in putnam county?... there are several lakes you can fish there

Hey Jared c. if your talking about the long pond I think your talking about it's just a small drive from my home in Staatsburg!
I have checked it out but not fished it yet. There is public acces and parking but no ramp. I was thinking of tossing my brothers canoe in there this year, it looks like it should hold some nice bass!
Email me at billarmeno@hotmail.com and maybe we can fish it this year.

Maybe we can try for some early season panfish.
If it's the same one it's definately for cartopperes only!

Bill

Jared C. : Arrow Point Park and Lake - Monroe, N.Y. (I don't know much about this one)

If this is Arrow Lake just north of Sloatsburg off of Route 17 then I can provide some info. It is a privately owned lake that charges an admission fee. From what I can remember it is something like $7. You can rent a row boat for $20-$25 for the day. No gas motors allowed but I've seen some guy mount a trolling motor to the boat. As far as I've seen, there is no boat launch but then again I've never asked. The lake is not very large or deep but holds some good fish. 1-2lb largemouths common - personal best is a 5 1/2 lb. A lot of Northern Pike around usually around 18" average size - personal best was 36". Panfish gallore for the kiddies - mostly sunnies but I've caught a couple of nice crappie slabs on a spinnerbait. Yellow Perch hang around as well but I haven't caught any bigger than about 8".

I go fish here 95% of the time. It is the only place I know of that can rent you a boat. I would appreciate people posting other places that are non-boat-owner friendly. I get my mirrors stolen off my Town Car. I can just imagine what they'd do to my boat if I owned one.
