Son Of A B!tC* POACHER!

Yesterday we were fishing for Pike and doing pretty good. My good friend Chuck decided to fish with spinnerbaits to see if he could hook any pike up. He had the same pike hook up three times but did not get him. Then he started to hook up some pretty nice bass.

Well this guy comes down after he catches the one bass about a 2.5 lber. and as my friend takes him off the hook The guy takes it out of my friends hand and says " I am taking that " He put the fish on a stringer and starts to walk away. I said to this asswipe "You can't take that, the season does not open until next week" he looks back at me and says " Well I am not supposed to but I am going to, I won't say nothing if you don't" We proceeded to pick our stuff up and drive to the closest pay phone and dialed 1-800-TIPP-DEC and turned his ass in.

I could not believe the gall this guy had. He just took the fish without asking and then kept it outta season.

We have no clue if the DEC caught up with him, but this is a classic example of a person that creates a "slob" hunter/fisher impression!

Boy am I pissed!

AngryYIKES!

That is probably the WORST thing I've ever read on NYBass, Jon. I'm sorry to hear it happened. How on earth could someone take a fish OUT OF SOMEONE'S HANDS, even if bass season was ON?

if you really sit back and look at the sorry state of what is excepted behavior by today's society, this is not surprising at all.that's part of why the nybass membership is so unusual.for the most part we are civilized rational human beings.this is becoming a hard commodity to find these days.

OMG! The same thing happened to me. I was about to pound this guy. My mother has the Lake House in PA. The guys that lives across the lake. A european gentleman that speaks hardly any english hooked up with a 2.0 lb bass. He brought the fish to the shore with him to show the kids. I was like that is fine, but when he brought the fish to the house I was HEATED! I told him that its not big enough (has to be 15inches) Plus, its not season. He agreed with me and then proceeded walking in the house with it. After that he come out with this piece of crap jon boat and landed another 10 in pickeral. The legal length is 15 inches in PA. He brought that fish in too! OMG! Now, this is my local lake. I go and fish this lake every weekend. I dont want this A**HOLE to take all the fish. It's soo funny. When you are drinkin responsible on the lake. I'll have the DEC dude up my back, but this sc*mbag. Gets away with this. This guy didnt even have a license. This weekend if I see this guy. I'm goign to give him a piece of my mind!!

the fish...AND the guy....would have been in the water after that incident. Then I would have educated him. If he was hungry I would have taught him how to catch in-season fish that he can eat. But he would have gotten wet first.

YOU should have filled his A$$ with
BUCKSHOT-JON!!!!!!
The DEC wont do nothing because they did'nt see it happen!!!

lastcastme-

The guy kept it on a stringer. I believe if the DEC did show up that he would have been cited still because he had it in his possesion.

But you do bring up a good point I know that the DEC is very limited with generaly 600-800 square miles per officer. With that said I mentioned to my buddy that we should really have some sort of aux Dec system. To patrol our own. I think it would keep alot more people on their toes to be legal.

I don't think they are DEC in PA. I think they're the PA Fish and Boat Commision. Here's a listing of their law enforcement numbers:

BUREAU OF LAW ENFORCEMENT
Director, Thomas J. Kamerzel 717-705-7861
Assistant to the Director, Guy A. Bowersox 717-705-7861
Assistant to the Director, George Geisler 717-705-7861

REGIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT MANAGERS
Northwest, Gary Deiger 814-337-0444
Southwest, Emil Svetahor 814-445-8974
Northeast, Kerry L. Messerle 570-477-5717
Southeast, Jeffrey S. Bridi 717-626-0228
Northcentral, Brian Burger 814-359-5250
Southcentral, Donald Lauver 717-486-7087

Hope it helps out.

Unfortunately, the same thing is going on daily here on Staten Island, at Wolf's Pond Park. European immigrants has taken over the park and from what I have heard, take bass illegally everyday. And they know it is illegal because their mode of operandi is to throw the bass into the high weeds when they catch it, and then take them when they are ready to leave the park. I have not witnessed it yet myself and I hope I do not. I don't think I would be able to control myself and then I'll find myself in jail. But, I have informed the DEP. One way or the other, this kind of behavior has to stop!

Angry

We've got some dot heads that fish the spillway in Whitney Point. They will keep walleye as small as 5 inches. I'd like to catch them just once. Let's see how well they swim with a 5 gallon bucket shoved up there a$$.

si b/m and big al-if this is a regular occurance you should notify the dec and demand action as a tax payer--you have to be more persistant than they are--don't shove the bucket you know where because that will only complicate YOUR life--these dec guys get paid to do a job and they should be notified and enforce the law--i know they are spread thin but i think your guy is in greene--i know it used to be marlin white--don't know if he is still active or not-the state has no trouble collecting all kinds of fees for fishing, boat rentals and permits etc-the law should be enforced and if they are short handed that is not your problem-become a pain in the ass--BUT MAKE SURE YOU ARE RIGHT!!!-bobn
